Jeez all those banned stuff, why don’t they just play counterstrike instead

    • Donut212

I was just thinking the same thing.

    • http://twitter.com/Thal3030 Eric

For the same reason Halo isn’t as popular….you cant ads

    • Vuhdo

You’d have to play competitive to understand why they are banned. When used by a genuinely good player, they prove to be overpowered and unfair.

  • http://twitter.com/PSNHotwire Hot-Wire

Lol at all the banning. They should just ban guns and call it a day. What a joke.

    • http://twitter.com/kirbyTFTV Jon Cameron

I don’t think you understand that when there’s a game that is far from a balanced game, things need to be banned. It’s so the only difference between players are their actual skill. By that logic, I wish they’d ban all scorestreaks, and stupid as fuck attachments like the target finder. Thank god I don’t play in this.

      • http://twitter.com/PSNHotwire Hot-Wire

Black Ops 2 is arguably the most balanced cod thus far, so it isn’t far from balanced.

      • Stephen

Target finder isnt a issue use emp to drown out there precious red diamonds or use cold blooded so you dont show up. Also people using target finder makes them easier to flank since they are usually immobile. And it limits your vision and takes the longest time to ADS. So if you have issues with it dont go to the same killzone that his at really and flank them.

    • Vuhdo

Do people want to watch players get blown up from corner camping, or everyone sitting in a corner hoping for their claymores to explode? And you pay $400 to get into this tournament plus hotel and airfare so it should be the most competitive, entertaining and balanced gameplays as possible.

      • http://twitter.com/PSNHotwire Hot-Wire

People want to watch players overcome the corner campers and dominate. Not saying this gun kills me, so ban.

  • pete

Who the fuck cares about game settings in a tournament??MLG is overrated and surely overmarketed

    • Vuhdo

I can tell you’re a pubstar. Please, would you pay $400 to get noobtubed, rpged and c4ed or claymored while someone runs around knowing exactly where you are for standing on a flag or killing you behind a wall with a C4? No. Therefore they are banned.

  • Niosus

Banning might seen weird, but is very normal in competitive play. More focus on skill and less on who has the best gun.

  • STK Blackrockmx

I have seen MLG pros stomped in pubs because their rules suck and really I will say they are good with their rules but without them not so good. I would probably suck in mlg cause I run and gun and its more camp for kills in mlg

You’ve seen MLG pros stomped in pubs because…
      1. Lag comp.
      2. The banned items list are for the most part 100% talentless or just broken. I can’t count the number of times I’ve lost a game of Demolition because the other team spams tac inserts near the objective. TIs have always been banned and shouldn’t even be in the game in the first place. See claymores, bouncing betties, and shack charges for the definition of “talentless”.

Not to mention there’s nothing stopping you from running and gunning under that ruleset. In fact, the banned items largely SUPPORT run and gunning by removing most of the campy items in the game. The only thing the MLG bans do is focus on gun skill instead of “set and forget” free kills. Gun skill doesn’t mean dickall in the current state of online play, so yeah congrats MLG pros sometimes get their asses kicked online. We all do. See the video posted on here proving that lag comp exists, sometimes even exceeding a full 500ms in duration. No one can win a gunfight in that garbage.

    • MegaMan3k

Most MLG “Pros” you run into are probably fakes.

    • Vuhdo

See camping in pro is much different then in pub. 1) They sit in strategic points on the map to get better spawns that act like tactical insertions, but instead use an ‘anchor’ player. There will then be a slayer player that will run an AR and two OBJ (objective) players focused on flag capping and hardpoint securing. SnD is all about map placement and staying balanced. It’s not camping it’s playing with a strategy, much like Basketball has plays so does MLG, just like MLB teams use shifts to cover lefties, pull hitters, double plays etc, MLG players do the same with shifts and map placement. It’s not camping, it’s strategy. There is a purpose.

  • al client

So they leave the noobiest item in the game in….the Target Finder. WTF? If you use this attachment, you’re a scrub.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Brandon-DeBoer/1353045198 Brandon DeBoer

Yeah the sights that massively limit your field of view and have the longest ads time in the game. Then you get to choose between being immobile while adsing or having massive headbob with the stock. Not to mention there’s a perk that renders it completely useless.

So overpowered dawg, makes me mad. That’s why you see so many dudes dominating with it online amirite?

    • http://twitter.com/ykyMrFalcon Joe Miles

it might help a noob but it is slow when you first aim down the sights, plus you can avoid targeting with a perk.

  • john
    • http://twitter.com/ykyMrFalcon Joe Miles

      nice

  • Its your fault

Everyone laughing at banned items and defending the target finder and assuming games dont need strategy are the reason the gaming industry is in the pathetic state it is selling garbage every year for $60. Grow up and get a clue. Competition is gone in the youth of today. They all just wanna smack split screeners and talk trash

  • MWsRAGE_5

as long as these so called mlg pros play cod… they are not good at all, any decent player could compete with them in their stupid LAN tournament, where lag doesnt exist. put one of those “mlg pros” in a regular pub match against not so bad people and they will ragequit because they are not used to such shitty conditions.

  • thebulky1cometh

Last COD article was Feb. 8th? Nothing new for the most popular game on the planet? Come on, man!

  • http://www.facebook.com/robertwaynecrawford Robert Crawford

Ill put my crew up against any mlg players in an online game anytime. I wont make any rules. Bring it. Tubes are used for campers and snipers. So is c4. Anybody wanna take the challenge my gamertag on 360 is Tiger Reign Our clan is SERE and we are 40 deep with good communication and teamwork. Or you can pay mlg to give you rules and restrict game play lol.
