Battlefield 4 – Operation Metro and Caspian Border Most Likely to Be Remade in Second Assault DLC

Fan-favorite Battlefield 3 maps like Operation Metro and Caspian Border might be sneaking their way into Battlefield 4 via the game’s recently announced expansion, Second Assault.

As the expansion’s description reads on the official website, “This Premium expansion pack will feature four of the most fan-favorite maps from Battlefield 3, redesigned to take advantage of our advanced Frostbite 3 engine and enhanced to include new multiplayer features from Battlefield 4.”

Of course, no mention is made of what maps will be returning, but core gameplay designer Alan “Demize99” Kertz has a few clues.

On a Reddit thread centered around Battlefield 4’s Second Assault DLC, Kertz mentioned that “Metro and Caspian are runaway favorites.”

In a recent poll brought to my attention by YouTuber xFactor, 6,655 voters have determined the following as the most popular Battlefield 3 maps (as of Tuesday, June 25 at 1:50pm PST):

If DICE were to stick to strictly Battlefield 3 vanilla maps, we would most likely see the return of Grand Bazaar, Caspian Border, Seine Crossing and Operation Metro, rebuilt in the Frostbite 3 engine for Battlefield 4.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see those four maps remade in Frostbite 3? Woud you like to see some of the DLC maps, like Epicenter or Strike at Karkand thrown into the mix as well?

Battlefield 4: Second Assault is coming to the Xbox One first sometime after Battlefield 4 launches on October 29.

Big thanks to xFactor for the tip. Check out his video below:
