All Battlefield 4 Maps Revealed, Battlelog Leak Lists All 10 Maps With Images [Updated]

According to a recent Battlelog post, DICE will have you waging war in Battlefield 4 across land, sea and air in 10 new maps ranging from locations like the city of Shanghai to a smaller, flooded Easter town, or an abandoned warehouse to a beautiful island resort.

The post, spoted by a NeoGAF user, lists all 10 of Battlefield 4′s maps and includes a panoramic image of each.

Keep in mind that the map names could be for internal usage, meaning they will most likely change before Battlefield 4 launches on October 29. However, “Siege of Shanghai”, “Paracel Storm”, “Operation Locker”, and “Golmud Railway” have been confirmed by DICE in the last Battlefield 4 multiplayer trailer.

Update

DICE has outed the official names for all 10 Battlefield 4 maps. They are:

  • Siege of Shanghai
  • Paracel Storm
  • Zavod 311
  • Lancang Dam
  • Flood Zone
  • Rogue Transmission
  • Hainan Resort
  • Dawnbreaker
  • Operation Locker
  • Golmud Railway

Check them out below and let us know what you think? Any in particular that have you excited?

Most of the maps sound like Call of Duty maps…

    • Danny Hargreaves Kernot

it looks like call of duty style maps if you ask me! lol. like the engine? they use from what i see so far just from these images :@ -_-

      • Mtariq47

That we cant really pin down until we’ve played but Im not liking what I see of Operation Locker…Looks like it will be a grenade-launcher spam-fest…

        • Danny Hargreaves Kernot

i suppose time will tell eh

        • Fight Club

Operation locker is just to appease to the Metro COD lovers. I will enjoy it if it has effective flanking spots otherwise I will stay away.

          • Mtariq47

Whenever DICE says “INTENSE INFANTRY ACTION”, I automatically think of Operation Metro and Grand Bazaar because they used the same words to describe those maps in BF3…

And they have designed Operation Locker with the purpose of providing “INTENSE INFANTRY ACTION” which means more of the same Metro, Bazaar “B flag” meat-grinders and choke points…

Me too, if they have good flanking routes then I’ll probably like the map but if it forces teams to fight in the centre without good flanking routes then I might as well stay away, I’ve already had enough of those kind of maps…

      • Ben

You’re an idiot. How can you judge anything based off those tiny banners. Have you seen the footage that’s out?! Do either of those maps looks like a COD map?? The answer you’re looking for is no.

        • Danny Hargreaves Kernot

am i? well cod looked good in the trailers and footage dont get me wrong battlefield is good but on bf3 they still have the ability to spawn trap you. these maps dont all look so big. doesnt make me an idiot just because you dont like how i say it how it is so you can go f*ck yourself my opinions my opinion

          • Fight Club

You must be talking about the console version about spawn trapping. I make the mistake of bitching about spawn trapping and I play on consoles. I would bet a ton of money that it is less of a problem on PC with 64 players. Next gen is going to be a whole different ball game compared to current gen because of the 64 players.

On consoles if you get spawn trapped it is usually because 2 to 3 people jerking off or the other team is nothing but clan members or high skilled players like myself. It is because of the low player count. If you got 2 to 4 people sniping or not taking objectives you are screwed to high heaven if the other team is taking objectives.

If spawn trapping occurs on PC please somebody tell me as I am very curious.

    • That guy you might know

Yeah, it’s really off putting, hopefully they’ll be as good as the other two we’ve seen.

      • Mtariq47

I know right, it gives an arcade-ish feel to it which makes me sick…I hope they change the names…

        • That guy you might know

As long as each map has some jaw-dropping scripted event, I won’t care what the name was.

          • Mtariq47

I hope its not all scripted…It would be quite cool to have some element of control over the destruction like in Siege of Shanghai…

            • That guy you might know

Well unless there’s a way that triggers the crashing ship on Parcel Storm (Which is AMAZING), then that one is definitely scripted.

Still amazing, but I wonder how many of them will be scripted.

    • Xarcriloth

      Theyre placeholder names!!! jeeeeez

      • Mtariq47

Gee, how long does it take to come up with a map name?…And most probably these are the names…I hope they arent, but with DICE I’m taking this extra cautiously after BF3…

        • Craig

who cares what the damn name is?! Is it gonna affect your gameplay experience?

        • Jamie Marques

they’re obviously place holders. I mean look at the first 4, they’re well named and like every other map in battlefield. the rest just haven’t been fully named yet, but they’re gonna be before release.

        • Michael De Hoop

these are the names the dev team uses to referance the maps, its easier when the names represent key parts of the map. for example operation firestorm in bf3 was called something like ‘oilfields’

        • Vidalzinho

who cares what the names of the maps are? losers

    • swipe_06

You might want to find another game to play, cause the similarities don’t end here. For example both are FPS games.

    • Storm_Worm5364

Just what I thought the same thing…

    • Fight Club

They might sound like it but half of them are not named right yet. But trust me you could fit all COD maps in just one of these maps.

    • dpg70

How exactly does something “sound” like a CoD map?

      • Laser0pz

Battlefield maps are generally locations or missions, such as Damavand Peak and Operation Métro, respectively.

Call of Duty Maps are usually one or two words to describe the *theme* of the map, rather than the map itself.

Take for example Aftermath or Pod from Black Ops II. If those maps were in Battlefield 3, they would have been called something like Downtown Los Angeles. Pod might have been called ‘Sanzhi Resort’ or something that described the location of the map.

It goes both ways as well. Caspian might have been called Checkpoint; Alborz might have been called Rugged and Tehran would have been called Overpass.

    • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

“Keep in mind that the map names could be for internal usage, meaning they will most likely change before Battlefield 4 launches on October 29.”

  • teo2cry

Resort looks like it could be good

  • ascaryghost

Doubt those are the final names. BF maps have less generic names and more descriptive names. Those sound like CoD maps.

    • TRC

Dawg above the icons it has a list of the names

      Siege of Shanghai

      Paracel Storm

      Zavod 311

      Lancang Dam

      Flood Zone

      Rogue Transmission

      Hainan Resort

      Dawnbreaker

      Operation Locker

      Golmud Railway

    • Ben

You’re right! eg. ‘Domination on resort’ thats a playable bf4 map.

  • Orcun Acik

Where is Operation Metro !!! :D

    • Rick Kump

In a DLC pack coming later on (next year).

      • Orcun Acik

Yes, DLCs, in-app purchases… it is era of games lacking content and then we pay again again again. This time I am not going to buy BF4.

        • Rick Kump

          That’ll show ‘em!

          • Gannon

            Hahah

    • Fight Club

Hopefully it is Ctrl Alt Deleted at DICE. ( fingers crossed ).

    • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

      Second Assault DLC :)

  • zacflame

The last 5 maps are named so awful, I hope those will actually be the popular name.
For example, when they announced the End Game maps, one map was called “Railway” instead of “Kiasar Railway”. People called it Railway anyway.

    • SamRock

      Internal names I believe

  • Abdul Zkert

I don’t think those are the final names as Jackfrags said there was a map he played called Zavod 311. It could be part of a dlc though

    • WomenAreStupid

I think that’s the official name for “Abandoned”, ’cause Zavod means Factory in Russian I think :)

      • SGTAngry

Agreed – I do believe that Abandoned will be revealed as Zavod 311 shortly. Hopefully we’ll get some confirmation out of the Euro Expo. I also don’t think they would let people play any of the DLC maps just yet – there’s still all these other maps that we haven’t seen! :)

    • ROCKMONEY

Zavod 311 & Operation 925 – I’m pretty sure the same guy thought these up…

    • WarBroh

They’re just placeholder names derived from the filenames. That was my first thought too though – “DICE has started one-word naming maps the way CoD does to make them easier on kids’ brains?”

  • Katana67

Ugh, all look very “themepark-y”. Golmud looks interesting though.

    • Gannon

      Agreed.

    • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

Anyone else kinda hoping it’s the new Heavy Metal?

      • Katana67

Me, a lot. Heavy Metal was great. I really miss sniping on Heavy Metal, as well as some really cool pitched tank battles that occurred. I always wished that the towns in Heavy Metal were a little more expansive along the windy road, leaving the big fields/hills open. Would allow for some good infantry combat should they ever had 64 players.

Oasis (more so on BC1 than 2), and Harvest Day, I also miss the most.

And I’ll revise my above statement, “Damage”, “Resort”, and maybe “Abandoned” look less like FPS themeparks from the very limited snippets above.

        • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

And, hey, they gotta put that 40X sniper scope to use somewhere!

  • John Evans

Im looking forward to seeing these maps in action. I would like to see more “mid-east” style locations though like we have in BF3: Firestorm, Kharg, Oman, Markaz… I feel those arid maps feel like great battlefields.

    • Jamie Marques

      ataccama desert from bfbc2 <3

  • kevin lemur

i like the sound of Tremors, hopefully it’ll be like the Aftermath maps but even more chaos when an earthquake hits. i’m super excited, these maps look really promising. good variety, we’re just missing a snow map and perhaps a cave map like Damavand Peak. we need another map with epic base jumping!

  • WomenAreStupid

Resort and Tremor look interesting, but very disappointed that there are no jungle or snow maps, smiliar to Cold War (in style, not size) and Valparaíso from BC2. Can’t wait for BF4 though, looks really awesome! :)

    • Rick Kump

Operation Locker is a snow map and Dish is surrounded by jungle vegetation, I believe.

      • Fight Club

        Jungle map. SOLD

        • Rick Kump

Don’t quote me on that. It’s not like a full on jungle-only map or anything. There’s just a lot of vegetation under the dish from what we’ve seen in the trailers.

      • WomenAreStupid

It looks like more of a forest-ish map, more similiar to Caspian Border I think… Still looks awesome, though :)

    • http://twitter.com/mund0x mundox

From what they’ve shown from China Rising I’d assume that it will feature jungle maps.

      • WomenAreStupid

Yeah, that one map looked so awesome! Can’t wait to see how the China Rising DLC will turn out :)

  • Gannon

I agree with a few of the comments I’ve heard so far. Seems a bit too much like CoD for my taste. Although it does look as if the first 4 maps have “battlefieldish” names, and the last 6 don’t. So I’m guessing the last 6 aren’t the final names. So that’s good.
But what really matters is the gamplay, which also has me a bit worried. These locations also seem to be a bit like CoD. I’d prefer more middle east and “classic” war areas.
But well just see. I’m sure DICE knows what’s they’re doin.

    • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

I’m seeing a lot of these comments here. Out of curiosity – and I’m not attacking you – what exactly makes these maps look COD-like? We haven’t even actually seen any of them them yet, other than SoS and PS which are clearly not COD-like.

I’d say the gameplay we’ve seen from those two maps alone make it clear that COD, this is not.

If you’re strictly talking about the names, then, like I wrote, “Keep in mind that the map names could be for internal usage, meaning they will most likely change before Battlefield 4 launches on October 29.”

      • Fight Club

I think if you remove the skip to comments button this problem will go away David. LOL. Some people needs to read before posting garbage comments.

        • eBunny

Lmao I didn’t even know that button existed before reading your comment.

Anyway, I can see where those guyst talking about CoD are coming from but I don’t agree in any way.
David has already said enough. The names are placeholders, these are just images and we haven’t even seen any gameplay of a lot of those maps, let alone played on them.

          • Gannon

Yeah I’m just going off of these tiny images. I’m sure DICE has done it right. They’ll be great.

      • Gannon

Well in my opinion it’s two things. First- the names, but as you said, they probably are internal names. So that’s probably not relevant. But secondly- The locations. I’m only going off of these tiny pictures, so I could be completely wrong, but they just seem to be a bit more CoD-like. They seem to be kind of “out-there”, as in being less traditional battlegrounds, which CoD has done a lot of lately. They fight in skateparks and stuff now. Like Resort for example. To me it seems weird to fight in a resort. And actually MW3 had the DLC called exactly that didn’t they? But then also “Operation Locker” has the Treyarch-style bright colors and such.
Idk. Like I said- I could be completely wrong. But just the feel I get from these pictures is that they seem a bit like CoD.

        • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

I suppose we’ll have to get more details about the game’s setting. Like BF3, some of these maps could be based off of locations featured in the single player. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see :)

          • CoDforever

I liked the black ops 2 style maps – something diverse and unique that other games lacked. The black ops 2 maps are rediculous ofcourse, but i think its whats gonna make black ops 2 stand out from the other shooters.

      • CoDforever

resort = getaway from mw3 (looks very similar)

        • Gannon

Yeah. That’s the one I meant.

        • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

          Based off that image, yes.

      • Timothy David Medric

It almost seems CoD like from the banner sized pic that you would see in the pre game lobby where players vote on whats next.

    • swipe_06

This is just absurd. People say Karg, Caspian, etc all the time, and somehow it wasn’t that codish so far.

      • Gannon

I understand that. I was just saying that that was one small portion that reminded me of CoD. That wasn’t the primary concern at all though. And not that it’ll be relevant anyway, as I’m sure they’re just the internal names.
The main portion I was referring to was the locations. Which I explained a bit more about my feelings toward in my reply to David.

    • Katana67

I could really care less about whether the names make them feel CoD-like, as some folks are keying in on. I also don’t care that they’ve apparently gone with a “CoD” banner display for the maps.

But I do see an explicit lack of rural areas in these maps. Sure, some appear to have open spaces (like the Arecibo one, Golmud, and a few others). But, the fact that DICE has seen fit to shoehorn CQC into everything sort of makes one see how a few of these could be CoD-esque.

Operation Locker looks atrocious, although I think this is the one that has the snowy mountain stuff above it, so it might not be all bad. But, the player-base and DICE I think, have been really persuaded in a bad way by the popularity of Metro.

  • http://Youtube.com/user/lallyofthevalley Nemesis_96

    ‘All 10 maps’ wow….. X)
Anyhoo, if tremors is what the name suggest, then why the hell didn’t they show it already, that sounds sweet!

    • http://mp1st.com/ David Veselka

That map has me excited as well. I’m wondering if DICE will take the tremor mechanic introduced in Aftermath to the next level here and really mess up these large sky scrapers.

      • Mtariq47

        That would be really awesome…

  • Fight Club

    Abandon map looks very interesting.

  • Storm_Worm5364

Abandoned is actually called “Zavod 311″

  • eBunny

On one hand I really thought I already knew more than enough about the game before even playing it myself, but on the other hand this got me very excited :) The maps are looking awesome even from just these images and of course they’re all getting levolution in both big and small ways. And then there are going to be all the DLC maps as well…oh man, I can’t wait.

  • CoDforever

Resort looks fuking sick !! reminds me of getaway from mw3

    • swipe_06

Never had the opportunity to play mw3, but I really liked that from the trailers. I really wanted to see something like that in BF as a CQ map. I guess my wish came true, cause domination will work on every map.

  • CoDforever

Resort looks alot like the map in MW3 getaway. and operation locker looks like the map we saw in cod ghosts behind the scenes, Not saying they copied tho but all of these maps look really cool

  • CoDforever

Wow .. this maps actually look really good and interesting. Never have i got that feeling before the game launches .. especially that map resort looks so cool .. My hate bar against bf4 has gone done a bit

  • CoDforever

Dish looks whatever, tremors looks like siege of shanghai in the dark, resort looks SICK , abandoned looks dope, flooded looks cool, IDGAF damage, hate golmud railway, operation locker looks very cool, every other map looks “ehh”

  • Timothy David Medric

Anyone else remember seeing a draft drawing of Operation Locker when on the battle log there was a ‘design your own Battlefield map’ contest?

  • Tank Buster

The maps look amazing. I don’t think anyone should be worried that the maps will have COD “likeness”. Now that we will have 64 player servers on console this will require larger maps to spread out the fighting and spread the objectives from becoming a giant cluster fuck. And we all know COD maps are freakin small arcade shooter maps.

    • Diedre Carmo

PC maps em BF3 are already very big. They just need to port the style to consoles.

  • oofy

    Golmud Railway and Dish.

  • YinYang27

    Can’t wait for Tremors

The names listed look to be updated and legit. The images don’t have those same updated names that is typed in! Update the pictures too!

  • TheAwkwardCarrot

I tried to go through all the official map names and attributed them to the concept art for those maps. I think that the map names will be most likely (in order from top to bottom)

    Siege of Shanghai (Given)

    Paracel Storm (Given)

    Operation Locker (Given)

    Golmud Railway (Given)

Dawnbreaker (The last name in the list after all the others were gone)

Lancang Dam (A rural dam in China, fits the city in the image as it is, judging by past visits to China, it fits the setting)

Zavod 311 (Zavod is factory in Russian, and the image is the only image with a factory in it)

    Hainan Resort (Pretty Obvious)

Flood Zone (The 2nd dam map, we glimpsed a part of it in the trailers where the boulder comes flying past and is urban and probably on the coast of China)

Rogue Transmission (Radio dish, fits description)

  • roland0811

As long as they’re bigger and better designed than BF3′s sorry maps. Out of the vanilla and DLC maps there were like….three decent ones?
