Mark your calendars. September 9, 2014 is the day you fulfill your destiny – your destiny to to play Destiny, that is, the upcoming shared-world shooter from renown video game developer Bungie.

“Today, in partnership with Activision, we are proud to announce that the worldwide launch of Destiny will happen on September 9th,” writes Bungie in a recent blog update. “Accordingly, the Destiny Beta will kick off in the summer of 2014, available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.”

A collection of Destiny info recently surfaced via the latest issue of GameInformer, including character, setting, and gameplay details. There’s a ton to read up on, all of which you can check out right here.

“The early support and enthusiasm for Destiny has been inspiring and humbling,” Bungie added. “We believe this is the right decision for our game, our studio, and our passionate community. Thank you for coming along with us on this adventure.”
