Ghost Recon Online Coming To Steam Early Access

Ghost Recon Online, the free-to-play, online-only, tactical third-person shooter from Ubisoft, is coming to Steam as an early access title, the studio announced today.

“We took the time necessary to reach a quality level that can go head to head with the best online games available today before releasing on Steam,” producer Corey Facteau said. “As the top shooter for gamers who enjoy team gameplay, we have also seen our audience expand to include MOBA fans, who comprise fifty percent of our user base. To ensure a seamless transition to the new platform, we will use Early Access to fine tune the Ghost Recon Online experience before releasing it to the rest of the world.”

The game, made up of 8 vs. 8 class-based online battles, is available through early access in Canada today and is expected to see a world-wide launch this Spring on Windows PC. Ghost Recon Online has been in beta since 2012.
