Advanced Warfare Not Coming to Wii U, 13 Game Modes at Launch, Customizable Camos, and More

Sledgehammer Games’ co-founder Michael Condrey is at it again answering questions about the studio’s upcoming shooter coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, but not Wii U.

According to Tweets from Condrey, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will not be making its way to Nintendo’s latest platform this year. He says the studio is “focused on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.” We do know, however, that Advanced Warfare is still landing on Microsoft and Sony’s previous-gen hardware and — though we’ve no specifics — that it’s being developed or ported by a separate studio.

Condrey then went on to answer a few more inquiries about Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer game modes, mentioning that there will, in fact, be 13 at launch, which is plus one in addition to the intel we were previously given. Sadly, Demolition will not be one of them. Myself and fellow MP1st co-founder Fahed were particular admirers of this one!

Condrey did, however, confirm that, in addition to Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Search & Rescue, and Capture the Flag, more familiar Call of Duty game modes will be making a return.

A few specifics on Advanced Warfare’s Hardcore playlist were also dropped, including the fact that Hardcore modes will “definitely” be Team Kill and not Ricochet, meaning friendly fire will kill teammates, as in older Call of Duty titles, instead of harming the shooter.

As for weapons, Condrey also confirmed that more “traditional” Call of Duty weapons, like the AK-47, will be returning. Furthermore, the studio has “got you covered” on customizable camos for those weapons. He also mentioned that DLC weapon camos are a probability.
