Explore Mars, Venus, and the Moon in Destiny’s Planet View, Powered by Google

You can now search for the nearest Starbucks on Mars, Venus, or Earth’s Moon using Destiny‘s just-announced Planet View. Well, okay. It looks like the world’s most popular coffee chain didn’t quite make it that far into the future, but there’s still lots to see.

Powered by Google, Destiny’s Planet View mimics Google Maps’ Street View, only you can use it to explore actual locations that you’ll get to visit in-game once Destiny drops next week on September 9.

The trailer above will give you a little overview of the nifty service that you can browse while at work or while on the bus. It even gives you a checklist of things to click on and should provide an extensive overview of the game and its setting.

UPDATE: Neat! Exploring all three will score you this player emblem for use in game.
