New Halo: Combat Evolved Screens and Details From The Master Chief Collection

Halo fans picking up The Master Chief Collection this November are in for a treat when, for the first time, the original Halo: Combat Evolved will not only be playable on Xbox One, but will also be playable on Xbox Live, complete with online matchmaking.

Players will be able to match up with others online to compete in Halo: CE’s various competitive multiplayer modes, including “all of the game types and custom game type options you remember” from the original, according to developer 343 Industries in a recent Q&A.

The studio also explained that matchmaking will cater to a variety of playlists, with or without radar, and will include all of the multiplayer maps that were originally exclusive to the PC version of Halo: CE, which you already may know. Some of the PC weapons, however, like the Flamethrower and Fuel Rod Gun will not be available.

You can read the full Q&A here and check out two brand new Halo: CE screens on Xbox One below. According to 343, footage of Halo: CE running on Xbox One is “on the way”, so stay tuned.
