8-Player Smash Coming To Super Smash Bros. On Wii U, New Character and Feature Reveals

Full-on 8-player battles are coming to the Wii U version of Nintendo’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. title.

Nintendo confirmed the fact along with 49 others in an over half an hour-long “50-Fact Extravaganza” video.

According to the new Nintendo Direct, 8-player battles will only available on the Wii U version of the game on only a select few stages and only in offline modes, meaning all 8 of you will have to bunch up in the same living room together in order for the smashing to begin.

The new video, which you can catch above, gives Smash fans a clear and thorough overview of the game’s Wii U-exclusive features. There are a ton to go through, including exclusive stages, surprise character appearances, and options, so be sure to catch it above to learn about them all.

In addition, two new characters were revealed today; Mewtwo and Bowser Jr. Mewtwo, in particular, will only be an option for those who purchase both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game and will be available in Spring 2015.
