Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare And Destiny Lead The Pack As Top-Selling Console Titles Of The Year

In the U.S., Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Bungie’s Destiny rose to the top of the charts as this year’s best-selling video games on consoles, publisher Activision announced today.

On Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the number one selling video game for the sixth consecutive year in a row followed by Destiny, a brand new IP from iconic developer Bungie that has become the best-selling new video game franchise of the year.

Three months after launch, Destiny received its first content expansion earlier this week called The Dark Below, introducing new missions, Strikes, Raids, Crucible maps, Exotic, Legendary, and Rare gear, and more. Meanwhile, Advanced Warfare’s first multiplayer expansion is due out early 2015 called the Havoc Map Pack and will introduce the Exo Zombies game mode. Yesterday, Xbox users got early access to the AE4 directed energy Assault Rifle, also included in the upcoming Map Pack.

What are your thoughts on Destiny three months after launch and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare one month after launch? Are they deserving of the top-selling console games this year? Let us know in the comments!
