Borderlands Fans Can Now Upload Previous-Gen Save Files To Prepare For The Handsome Collection Launch, Here’s How

With Borderlands: The Handsome Collection’s launch just a week away, Gearbox Software revealed details on how veteran Vault Hunters can export their saves from older-generation platforms onto the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

You can do so by following the steps below:

  • Ensure all versions of the games are up to date with the latest patch (old-gen and new-gen) and you are connected to PlayStation Network or Xbox Live.
  • From the main menu of the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions of BL2 or BL:TPS, choose the “Cross Save” (PlayStation consoles) or “Cloud Save” (Xbox consoles), then “Upload Save” function.
  • Once the save has been uploaded, choose “Cross Save” or “Cloud Save” then “Download Save” from the main menu of the PS4 / Xbox One Handsome Collection game for which you’re downloading the save.

However, there is one downside for those who are planning to either import their saves or start a fresh run. According to developers, any of the Golden Keys that you may have accumulated in the past will be wiped along with any items in Claptrap’s stash. Though Gearbox Software will offer fans the following as a compensation:

Borderlands 2

  • 75 Golden Keys
  • A healthy chunk of Badass Rank
  • Bonus character customizations

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

  • 75 Golden Keys
  • A healthy chunk of Badass Rank
  • Bonus unique weapons and character customizations

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection arrives March 24 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
