ESL And ESEA Announce “World’s Largest Counter-Strike League,” $1 Million Prize Pool For World’s Best Teams

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the biggest eSports in the world with millions of fans watching streams across the internet and attending live events, as well as professional teams competing yearly in leagues to see who’s the best in the business.

Now, ESL and ESEA plan to keep the momentum going with Pro League, the “world’s largest counter-strike league,” paying out one million in prize money to the winning teams of North America and Europe and hosting the season offline finals in ESL’s eSports arenas in Cologne, Germany and Los Angeles, California.

“Starting May 4th, the new competitive esports league is the result of two esports giants looking to grow and sustain the global Counter-Strike scene,” reads the press release. “ESL, together with ESEA, bring almost thirty years of combined experience in high quality esports production and broadcasting to what will be the world’s most prestigious Counter-Strike league.”

With 12 invited teams from each region battling it out in weekly online matches, it’ll be interesting to see one of the largest eSports titles grow even bigger after seeing the huge turnout in ESL’s Katowice finals.
