Gears returns to Xbox later this month as fans of the classic third-person shooter await The Coalition’s debut Xbox One project, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

Now only one week away from launch, the studio has put together a brand new, although familiar, launch trailer that not only does a good job selling the impressive visual makeover of the original Gears of War game, but also brings back a few treasured memories. Set to the tune of Mad World, this 2015 re-make pays homage to the original Xbox 360 trailer that debuted almost one decade ago, in 2006.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition launches on August 25. Anyone who plays the Ultimate Edition on Xbox Live between August 25 and December 3 of this year will receive free tokens to download backwards compatible Xbox 360 collection to play on Xbox One some time this fall. That includes the original Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgment.
