Star Wars Battlefront Beta Kicks Off On PlayStation 4, Xbox One, & PC Today

Grab your blasters and don’t forget to wear your helmet. The Force is calling you, imploring you to take part in the open beta for EA and DICE’s new Star Wars-themed shooter, Star Wars Battlefront.

It’s now live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and you can find it at the following download links.

The beta ends this Monday, October 12.

In it, you’ll get to play as either Rebel or Imperial factions in three different game modes on three different maps — Walker Assault on Hoth, Drop Zone on Sullust, and Survival on Tatooine. The latter can be played co-operatively, both online and via split-screen against six waves of computer-controlled opponents. The infantry-focused Drop Zone ups the player count to 16 players, while Walker Assault offers the full Battlefront experience — AT-ATs, X-Wings, Jedi Warriors and all — with up to 40 players.

As you rank up, you’ll explore the new Star Card system, equipping your Rebel Fighter or Storm Trooper with abilities like the Ion Shot, Jump Pack, or Personal Shield. You’ll also be able to unlock iconic arms like the DK-17 Blaster Pistol and DLT-19 Heavy Blaster. Don’t forget to buddy-up to have someone to support and spawn on as well.

Give it a shot and let us know what you think in the comments!

Star Wars Battlefront launches November 17.
