Injustice 2 Has Gone Gold, Final Shattered Alliance Trailer Set To Feature Brainiac

With less than a month to go until the release, NetherRealm Studios upcoming DCU based fighter, Injustice 2 has finally gone gold!

Now sporting a gold background on his official Twitter account, Ed Boon has been known to have cryptic messages in his tweets. His background image is  a very noticeable change from the previous black background that he had, suggesting that the game has indeed gone Gold. This wouldn’t be the first time he announced his game going gold in this fashion as back before the release of Mortal Kombat in 2015, he changed his Twitter page to feature Mortal Kombat text with gold coloring. It was only days after that the official announcement was made.

Aside from hinting at the game finally going gold, Boon also revealed that not every character in the game will be receiving a Premium skin. This certainly is a disappointment, though if past titles are to go by anything they’ll most likely receives this Premium skins VIA patch or DLC.

Speaking of characters, for those wondering how exactly Brainiac will be tying into the game you’ll get an opportunity tomorrow as the final Shattered Alliance trailer that pieces together the story of the game is released. Many are under the assumption that Brainiac will be the main villain this time around, though we’ll have to wait till tomorrow to know for sure.

Below you’ll find the previous four parts for those who haven’t seen them yet:

Injustice 2 is set to be released May 16th on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
