Destiny Competitive Multiplayer First Look – Gameplay From PlayStation 4 Alpha

Destiny fans will be able to get their first taste of Bungie’s epic shared-world shooter when the Destiny First Look Alpha launches on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 this Thursday, June 12.

Not only will it offer your first experience in character creation, exploration, Missions, Patrols, and Strikes, but you’ll also get to try your hand at Destiny’s competitive multiplayer in The Crucible.

Lucky for you, we got a chance to play the Destiny Alpha early at a special event here in Los Angeles amidst the hustle and bustle of E3 2014 and Bungie has allowed us to share some of our experiences with you. So, we’re excited to bring you a first look the Control game mode in Destiny’s competitive multiplayer on two maps, Rusted Lands and First Light.

Enjoy three full-length and uncut multiplayer matches below, but be sure to stay tuned for our first-impressions and more gameplay later on.

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts below!

To bad its not for PC :C

    • Samson

The more boring gameplay they show the less I care it’s not coming to PC.

  • Ryan Schulze

Looks good, but I think it’s the story, progression system, & MMORPG elements that will pull me into this and the PvP modes will be a nice bonus.

    • Mike

Agreed. I like being immersed in a game long term..

      • Ryan Schulze

I rarely finish games as I don’t have the free time I used to, but immersing myself in a world and a campaign is what I’m moving towards now that I don’t play FPSs daily. When I only drop in for a few hours a week, I’d rather it be exploring a world instead of being destroyed in multiplayer. Once I’m deep into the Campaign, I’ll get into the online world. That’s the path I’m taking with Watchdogs right now.

Want to see assassinations. Also, wonder how the coop weapons will make it into the competitive side. There are some better vids for coop that make this look better.

I think not having it for PC is a huge mistake. Yes it takes time and money to make that happen, but with a budget of $500 million (most expensive game to date) I think they can figure that out.

  • I wan to kill that voice !

  • Mike

I signed up for the alpha but I havent heard anything back.

    • Samson

      We’ll letcha know.

    • Joel Santana

Prob hear something back on Thursday before it starts.

  • Mr. Thuggins

They revealed this game way too early. I’m having a hard time staying excited for this game.

  • So many BS deaths lol

  • Kevin Garvey

I’m not able to watch the videos

  • utopiate

It looks alright but nothing to match the hype. I did think it was a shame its not coming to PC but this has made me think I’m not missing much.

Looks like Titanfall minus the Titans.

    • Ryan Schulze

That’s what I was thinking. Thankfully, this is only a small slice of the whole game and not the part I’m most interested in.

  • Merdan Demir

is the full game supporting 12 players (on next gen) or more players (maybe 18-24)?

  • kingwill4231

Still not grasping what all the hype and intrigue is about this game ? Am I missing something or only seeing a small of part of what this game is about ?

  • Butterfish279

    Videos don’t work for me…Just a commercial and then black screen.v 🙁
