Advanced Warfare’s ‘Best Preorder Incentives Have Yet to Come,’ GameStop Letter Confirms ‘Exciting’ Announcement

According to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, some of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s “best preorder incentives have yet to come.”

The only bonus revealed thus far for those who’ve pre-ordered Advanced Warfare is the Advanced Arsenal pack, an in-game bundle containing the Bullet-Brass Exoskeleton and the Bullet-Brass M1 Quantum directed energy weapon. But as Hirshberg mentioned, it sounds like pre-purchasers will have more to look forward to in the near future.

Hirshberg mentioned the surprise in his response to a question regarding Advanced Warfare’s current pre-order numbers during Activision’s recent Q2 2014 earnings call.

“I think it’s also important to remember that we’re still a ways from our launch and have yet to reveal some of the most important elements of the game to the community who tends to pre-order, like multiplayer and some of our best pre-order incentives have yet to come.”

According to an internal letter sent to us by an MP1st reader and ex-GameStop employee who wishes to remain anonymous, GameStop is likely make the surprise announcement “soon.”

The letter mentions “exciting things that are due to be announced soon about Call of Duty,” but that “details are unable to be shared [with employees] at this time.” It’s not a lot to go by, but we know something is in the works.

Speaking of pre-orders, readers have noted that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Digital Pro Edition and Season Pass are now available to pre-order on the PlayStation Network Store. (Update: The Advanced Warfare Digital Pro Edition is now appearing on Steam as well.) According to the product description, content included in Advanced Warfare’s Season Pass will transfer if users decide to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 at a later date.

Please be a beta or early access!

    • there will never be a beta cos people would realize they game sucks

      • amplif1er

        Loll it’s so true

        • MrMultiPlatform

Look how bad BF does because of their betas.

          • latch360

Cod has had a c beta 24 years ago when you were 6, so they put out good betas.

          • DanDustEmOff

Because BF4 betas are more broken than the launched version.

        • BrodyLY

agreeing with the girl because youre a virgin but yeah the game will probably suck

          • latch360

          • latch360

You’re the perv that hacks me and knows I’m a virgin.

            • Austin Howell

he wasn’t even replying to you you moron

      • latch360

You sound dumb Jennifer. 5 more likes you got because of gender. Go play with Timmy now.

        • you mad cos i speak the truth the only people that get early access are youtubers who are paid to bring hype to the game

take a second and see that i am right

          • DanDustEmOff

Don’t confuse your opinion with the truth and facts.

            • it is facts do some research buddy

            • DanDustEmOff

Well typically I have gotten CoD titles early every year and beta access up to CoD 4. Early access does typically go to YouTube first but they aren’t the only people to get early access.

Just because that is your experience, doesn’t make it truth or fact.

          • latch360

I bet you think Obama brought Ebola over to the United States too.

      • latch360

Does the game suck or you just don’t like it….even though you haven’t played it? Trying to fit in? Or is using simple logic not your thing?

      • latch360

I mean I’ve never said Battlefield was even close to a bad game. I still don’t play it.

      • DanDustEmOff

CoD may have lost its impact, but it is still one of the best console fpsr games out. BF4 was shit, Destiny is 30fps, Titanfall has been abandoned and Wolfenstien has no multiplayer.

Betas were never meant to create hype, their purpose is to find bugs and live test the game.

        • MegaMan3k

Best console FPS games out there?

Maybe circa 2010 and prior. But, honestly … MW3 was trash, BO2 was barely tolerable, and Ghosts is so bad that people forget it even exists.

          • latch360

People forgot it exist? Do you see how many people play it everyday? It’s not even close to t he old CODs, but still has more players and buyers than most games.

          • DanDustEmOff

One of the best and for me yes. I enjoyed MW3, I know that’s rare on Internet forms but yeah, good game. Hated BO2, quite like Ghosts. It’s all subjective really though.

        • Skullking920

Bf4 is now 100 times better than ghosts is imo and ghosts sucks big time.

          • DanDustEmOff

Don’t know, don’t care. I uninstalled it after six months of bugs, crashes and poor connectivity. Still play Ghosts from time to time and although it lacks innovation it functions well enough for me to not be frustrated when I play. The BF series taken a massive nose dive in quality lately.

      • latch360

Have you played it?. Wait, let me guess. You don’t have to play it to know it sucks. Again, nice logic. Ladies shouldn’t act like the young degenerate s. You’re going down the wrong path.

    • SiftBlade

I bet you it’s Nuketown. Nothing else they can really do if it’s supposedly the “best one yet.”

      • Mitch

        I doubt they’ll do a 2nd bonus map.

        • SiftBlade

So what do you think the best preorder bonus will be? A camo? Also, if my memory serves correctly, the bonus map is not a preorder bonus, it comes with the limited edition. It’s totally possible to have 2 bonus maps at launch. BO2 had Nuketown 2025 as a preorder bonus and Nuketown Zombies as a limited edition. So yeah.

          • DanDustEmOff

You’re probably not going to see a Treyarch map in AW. They only reason that they have shipment is probably because they have no classic maps of their own.

            • SiftBlade

Why not? On Twitter, you can see conversations between Treyarch Devs and SH devs, giving tips and stuff. Also, in the survey they released, Nuketown was on there and was one of the top choices. I don’t see why it’s not possible.

            • DanDustEmOff

Not saying it’s not possible. I just don’t think it’s probable, SH have closer ties to I so I would expect to see MW maps being used. On a side note I would also prefer Nuketown not to return. I got so bored of that map, halfway through BO2 I just wanted Nuketown to be removed.

        • DanDustEmOff

I doubt that they will do a Treyarch map even more.

      • Nuketown is meh. I want Afghan. Would be awesome with the exo-suits.

  • all it will be is some camo for ghosts and some other rubbish thing

  • MegaMan3k

If it’s a beta I’d preorder it and then not buy it cause I’ll realize how truly terrible it is
If it’s something like amazing exclusive weapon camos I won’t preorder and will probably buy the game through some other means

So, let’s see … It’s in GameStop’s best interest for it to be a beta, and it’s in Activision’s best interest for it to be some camo thing …

    • amplif1er

Chances are if it’s a beta.. Which is highly doubtful. It wouldn’t be exclusive to a certain retailer, that would defeat the purpose of a beta.

      • MegaMan3k

Beta just means ‘limited access demo’ nowadays.

  • xHDx

Why do I get the felling “Best *insert words* is yet to come has been said countless times before. There seems to be something unusual with this “new” COD that’s making me cautious. Like I said, No Demo/Beta, no purchase. Or I’ll contact a friend who can let me experience it first hand.

Let’s see if it’s a MP demo or SP demo. It’s always been SP for obvious reasons…

  • MrMultiPlatform

Love all the CoD “HATERS” on here.

    • SiftBlade

You think this is a lot? Try IGN.

      • Mitch

IGN’s comment sections are simply retarded. Just go to news about anything XB1 or PS4 related. Chances are you might throw out all your electronics because you just witnessed the biggest stupidity on earth.

        • Deciver95

          Fewer words are true ^

        • jj16802

At this point, I don’t think IGN gives a damn whether or not their articles cause console wars in the comments section. I think they only care that there are people viewing their site for ad revenue.

          • Ryan Schulze

I think they do care in that they post articles that often seem to just be troll bait.

            • jj16802

Speaking of which, they just posted a article about a guy in California suing Sony for Killzone Shadow Fall’s MP mode not being native 1080p. The flame wars have begun in the comments section already.

            • Ryan Schulze

Yeah, saw that. It would be someone in my state suing over that. Yes, they appear to have lied, but no one looked at Ryse and said the visuals sucked because they weren’t 1080p. If a game looks good, it looks good. Mechanics/gameplay are more important and I don’t really care for Killzone’s, but it’s certainly not the visuals that stop me from being interested. The PS4 benefit is that it can handle more from a developer, whatever that may be. Maybe it’s graphics or framerate or a little extra processing on the end image, but that’s the only reason to debate the consoles now. They’re roughly the same with roughly the same features and policies, though XB1 has the EA program and Sony doesn’t, but MS has a history of changing policies on you. My brother’s Family Gold ran out a few months ago and apparently MS has ended the Family plan unless you upgrade to XB1. So they can buy 5 Gold memberships, or upgrade to XB1 and stick with MS, or upgrade to PS4 and get everyone online on one PS Plus account. Plus they could then play games with their uncles. No brainer, right?

            • jj16802

Honestly, I think the plaintiff is making a big deal over nothing. It’s not like he was emotionally scarred by a lower resolution. Even Digital Foundry didn’t know the multiplayer was upscaled by a fancy technique. I guess that’s how good Guerrilla’s tech skills are.

I think it’s safe to say the case will be thrown out.

On a related note, the comments section last night was filled with lawsuit jokes for a while. Much better than watching the fanboy wars go on and on! 😀

        • Mirus Reflx

          This site is no different.

    • The anonymous employee

Its the same game over and over again. Don’t forget they can’t even come up with new map ideas they re use old maps. This is cod 11 I think…u go ahead play with little kids on cod… in the mean time I’ll wait for rainbow six to come out that’s where adults are going to be at.. so when u grow up play with the adults on rainbow six.

      • KillzoneVII

10 bucks says you’ll run into a “little kid” on Rainbow in the first hour of playing.

      • Haydn

        Nobody gives a shit mate….

  • TheGamerBeast

surprise is NUKETOWN ? i wish

  • kyuubi_clone

activision have already begun spending to get that hype train moving along.
so many stories based on this game already! lol
    next: behind the scenes…..

  • I can’t wait to see what new carrots GameStop and Activision are going to dangle next to try to get that free pre-order money.

  • Merffy

Probably to be announced at Gamescom, like everything else Advance Warfare related.

Whatever it is I can guarantee that it will be released to everyone after about 30 days.

    • alexrr10

What if it is a Beta ? :/

  • KillzoneVII

    Beta beta beta beta beta!

  • Lostbytes

I will not be pre-ordering it…. (Although ,I will be
buying it digitally on release night! Went all digital this gen….and
for about 4 of last years for last gen)I Will start preording again
when Digital preorder and preload are available. Unfortunately, that
    time is not now…..

I don’t really plan on buying AW since Halo comes out the next week and I’m a Halo junkie, but I’m curious to see how it does. Partially because this is the first game Sledgehammer makes by themselves, and partially because I’m pretty sure my roommate is going to be buying it to play on my XB1 so I’ll get to play it anyway haha.

  • Joshua C

probably going to be another “come to our website and enter your receipt code every day to get some crappy wallpapers” contest. they’ve done those before.

  • Ryan Schulze

A massive cash discount would be somewhat intriguing, but won’t happen. Beta access would be key if Activision wants to capture any of us that are curious, but have been burned by COD’s “innovations” too many times before. And the last one I wasted my money on was Sledgehammer’s last iteration of COD.

  • big jobs

Adult community and non-sucking game not included.

    • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

Can you name me a game that has an adult community? Dont say Battlefield or CS GO because its not true

  • roland0811

There hasn’t been a decent CoD in seven years. I hope this one finally takes it out of the franchise’s nosedive into mediocrity. There’s been such a lack of really good shooters for five or six years now that I’ve gone back to Rainbow Six 3 and GR: Island Thunder. smh

  • thebulky1cometh

I dunno, this almost screams, “Please buy our game!” I’m getting a little worried that this isn’t going to be an awesome game.

  • Leon

I am not pre-ordering. I will see reactions after release.

  • BAMozzy69 .

I have pre-ordered the Atlas Pro edition already and hope that comes with the Advanced Arsenal pre-order bonus as that looks much better than the Atlas editions – It does show the logo in the picture although not mentioned in the contents
