Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC “Pharaoh” Map Preview

After yesterday’s first look at Call of Duty: Ghosts’ upcoming Invasion DLC, developer Infinity Ward is launching a set of daily preview videos for each of the four new multiplayer maps and Extinction Episode 3: Awakening leading up to its release on June 3.

Today’s preview is all about Pharaoh, an abandoned archeological site of an ancient Egyptian palace. Infinity Ward says players must be on the look out for collapsing monuments and urns full of flesh-eating scarabs, among other surprises. Areas inside the palace offer close-quarters combat scenarios where short-range weapons will shine.

Those who complete the map-specific Field Order will be rewarded by Anubis, the half-jackal/half-human and protector of the dead.

Watch the video preview above, telling a short story starring Modern Warfare protagonist, Captain John Price.

Stay tuned while we learn more about Invasion’s other three multiplayer maps, including Departed, Mutiny, and the fan-favorite Favela.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion hits Xbox Live on June 3.

Check out some “Pharaoh” gameplay from Call of Duty community members, including map-specific easter eggs. We’ll add more videos as they pop up.

Infinity Ward is through. This is embarrassing. They didn’t even attempt to re-skin Favela? They just said “Here’s Favela?” and a AC-130 Field Order? lol The other maps look horrible. That Carnival maps is the probably the worst DLC I’ve seen, and I hated Paint Ball on Black Ops II.

Where’s the enthusiastic Mark Ruben? I attempt to think of something unique they would use for a field order, and all that I saw was Ghost Pirates. Are we really going to fight on a Pirate Ship? Please say no.

I actually thought that Departed looked like the best. I mean its based of a day of the dead parade which is suppose to be vibrant and colorful.

(didnt see the full video) but i think they are celebrating Day of the Dead (similar to Halloween just no candy 🙁 ). Pretty cool having a cultural background on some of this maps.

I think these map packs should be free (or some) for people that buy the game. At least the fans I think would truly appreciate the maps. At least people wouldn’t bitch as much, I wouldn’t if they were free. I think map packs are the number 1 way of milking a franchise. Quality goes down, quantity goes up.

I think the game should be free. Oh, and the game consoles, too.

I think everything should be free honestly. Our economy would crash and nobody would bother working but who cares free stuff

People only bitch about CoD to get thumbs up.
