About the Game

“Outnumbered and outgunned, but not outmatched.

Welcome to Call of Duty®: Ghosts, an extraordinary step forward for one of the largest entertainment franchises of all-time. This new chapter in the Call of Duty® franchise features a fresh dynamic where players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom, or liberty, but simply to survive.

Ten years after a devastating mass event, the nation’s borders and the balance of global power have been redrawn forever. A superpower no more, its economy and government in ashes, the country’s once-mighty military struggles to stave off complete collapse.

As what’s left of the nation’s Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as ‘Ghosts’ leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power.

Fueling this boldly reimagined Call of Duty® universe, the franchise’s ambitious new next-gen engine delivers stunning levels of immersion and performance all while maintaining the speed and fluidity of 60 frames-per-second across all platforms.”

Key Features

  • The Introduction of a New Next-Gen Engine: Call of Duty®’s new next-gen engine ushers in an unprecedented level of innovation, delivering stunning and lifelike characters, gorgeously rendered environments, and authentic real-world animations, all brought to life by advanced lighting systems and visual effects that redefine forever the signature standards Call of Duty® fans have come to expect from the critically-acclaimed series.
  • A New Call of Duty® Universe: For the first time in franchise history, players will take on the underdog role with Call of Duty®: Ghosts; outnumbered and outgunned, players must fight to reclaim a fallen nation in an intensely personal narrative. Gamers will get to know an entirely new cast of characters and locales in a world unlike any that Call of Duty® has explored before.
  • The Next Generation of Multiplayer: Armed with a new next gen engine, Call of Duty®: Ghosts redefines the franchise’s hallmark multiplayer experience. Dynamic maps bring earthquakes, floods, and user-initiated events that fundamentally alter the flow and strategy of every fight. Also, with unparalleled character customization, players have total control to tailor-make their soldier. These are just two of the many innovations going into the Call of Duty®: Ghosts multiplayer experience.

In addition, Black Ops 2 gets a brand new trailer for the Ghosts pre-order bonus: a Ghosts weapon camo for use in Black Ops 2.

  • As of right now no shooter thats releasing in the coming year has wowed me. All of my pre-orders are RPG’s.

    • AtheistMason

      Because it’s still 10+ days to E3 🙂

    • MegaMan3k

Does that include what’s already released in 2013?

      Metro Last Light?
      Destiny (unknown release date)?
      Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon?

      Rising Storm
      (is Loadout FPS?)

      • Destiny is the only one that i’m thinking about pre-ordering.

      • mechcell

        Loadout is third person shooter

        • SubXero

And Chad said “no shooter”. He didn’t say “no FPS”.

      • Thomas

I’m not sure if Destiny is going to be purely a shooter but, its release is still much anticipated.

    • EcHo84

Killzone Shadow Fall didn’t spark any interest?

  • AtheistMason

You have to pre-order at GameStop. You have to be a GameStop member. You have to use the camo in Black Ops II so you have to get the game as well.

    Wow it’s never before seen.

tbh I think that if they ditched the 60fps and let the console run on whatever they want, they could have achieved much better visuals, like, even with 40-50fps

    • AtheistMason

Nah… Although 40-50 fps looks like 60, it actually feels different

    • Niosus

The problem is that displays run at 60Hz or a multiple of that. With 60fps every frame will be on the screen for the exact same amount of time, same for 30fps. If you go with 40 or 50 fps some images will stay on the screen for longer than others. This makes it feel jittery. It is very easy to spot when you’re used to 60fps.

The Next Generation of Multiplayer: Armed with a new next gen engine, Call of Duty®: Ghosts redefines the franchise’s hallmark multiplayer experience. Dynamic maps bring “EARTHQUAKES” Hmmm now where have I seen this before?

    • AtheistMason

I get your meaning, nonetheless it’s fun to see an earthquake (or tremor?) in a CoD map, heh.

    • zacflame

black ops(1) had interactive maps and customizable characters, and BOTH developers act as if it never happened, and now this shit.

    • Bigboss

yes whenever stealth bomber was called in you would experience earthquakes depending on how close you are to the area of effect.

    • mrneoshredder

COD Ghosts will be a first person shooter.

Hmmm now where have I seen this before?

  • Clark W Griswold, Jr

seriously?? More weapon camos…thank you for taking what was at one point the most authentic WW2 shooter and turning it into a steaming pile of ship complete with bacon camoflage.

    • Thomas

      Damn autocorrect…

      • Clark W Griswold, Jr

I shipped my pants, you should try it

        • Alex | FamousIsLIVE

I’m getting real tired of this ship.

          • ShipCaptain

            Are you ducking shipping me!

    • Kevin Teeple

When a Vampire hits a Destroyer, it leaves a steaming pile of ship.

  • Anonymous

    So whats next? DLC hats?

    • Kevin Teeple

No, Infinity Ward and Treyarch haven’t quite “Valved” out yet.
Not that I’m saying they never will. There is a lot of money in hats, and it seems pretty likely Ghosts might have DLC masks.

  • buttfacebob545
