MW3, Black Ops, FIFA 12, and BF3 Lead the Top Played Xbox 360 Games (Week of March 19th)

Microsoft’s Major Nelson has revealed the top 20 games played on Xbox Live for the week of March 19th. The activity is measured by uniques users, not hours played. As long as the console is hooked to the net, whatever you’re playing (single-player or multiplayer) counts.

Compared to March 5th’s numbers, many games held their positions over the past few weeks. The top five titles remain unchanged with MW3 leading the charge. Check out the list below, and tell us what you’ve been playing on 360 lately.

  1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops
  3. FIFA 12
  4. Battlefield 3
  5. Halo: Reach
  6. Modern Warfare 2
  7. Mass Effect 3
  8. NBA 2K12
  9. Skyrim
  10. Gears of War 3
  11. GTA IV
  12. Forza Motorsport 4
  13. Madden NFL 12
  14. Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City
  15. NHL12
  16. Saints Row: The Third
  17. Halo 3
  18. Red Dead Redemption
  19. Call of Duty 4
  20. NBA 2K11

Special Note: The response to the first 360 activity charts article was more than positive. We’ll keep running this series as long as you enjoy it.  Unfortunately, there is no official activity numbers for PSN and PC (impossible to track due to multiple services and independent ones).

Glad BF3 is still in the top 5. TONS of people must play FIFA 12. Who knew… lol.

Believe it or not FIFA 12 is the best selling sports game ever and some people are crazy good at it. It actually got me interested in soccer/football as a whole and not just the video game

      • I grew up on PES, so it was hard for me to switch to FIFA. I gave FIFA 11 a shot, had a lot of fun. Sucked at it though. 🙁

Have you heard of the Football Manager series?

I always wondered why there were never such stats for PSN. Good info…

    • Ohh the note in parenthesis is regarding the lack of PC info. PSN is like Xbox Live, but Sony doesn’t release its activity charts. :/

      • Clay

Ahh yeah thanks for the clearing up of that

PSN includes PSP and Vita as well as PS3 they aren’t seperate.

Wonder if Battlefield 3 would be higher in the 360 ratings if it got PATCHED!

    • BF3 is probably the highest it’s going to get.  Maybe move up to 3 if MW2 drops some.  It’s still a good showing.  Modern Warfare and FIFA sell such obscene amounts of the game that it would be near impossible to top them (even with the patch.)  The patch, though, may bring some lost BF3’ers back to the mix.  I know I’m the only one of my friends still playing regularly.  Two are now back on MW3 most of the time.  Two got into MP on new Resident Evil.  And one just stopped playing all together.  My hope is that the Private Servers allow me to lure them back in and maybe I can help boost the numbers.

Keep this series, love to see witch games are hot

  • Ouch… BF3 set out to beat MW3 in the play charts, and they’re behind 2 COD games!  Zoinks!
