What are you getting Titanfall on? The Xbox One or PC?

  • KillzoneVII

Wait, so X1 users CAN pre-load the game? I heard the other day they said you could and then someone at Respawn declined and said you couldn’t.

    • No, pre-loading is not offered for Xbox One.

      • KillzoneVII

Ah okay thanks, I hope it becomes a thing for consoles some time. I could see that being the thing that sways me to go digital since I could then play said game at exactly 12:01 without having to go to a midnight release and wait in line.

        • DanDustEmOff

The only bad thing is, when you’re sold a crap game you kinda get stuck with it. I wish Steam and Origin would allow you to sell your digital licence to another user.

          • KillzoneVII

For sure, I tend to only buy games I KNOW I will enjoy though, lately Ghosts has been my only regret and even with that I still play it almost daily. At least ever since I found more people to play with, most of my old CoD buddies have moved on to ps4 or Battlefield.

          • Cole deZeiss

Origin has their “great game guarantee”. I haven’t taken advantage of it, but supposedly you can get a refund if you don’t like the game.

            • DanDustEmOff

Thanks will try that out, got a game in mind.

            • DanDustEmOff

Only applies for 24 hours after purchase.

  • Gotta wait until 3 AM EST to download Titanfall on my X1. I hope Microsoft can get some sort of pre-purchase/pre-load infrastructure soon. After all, the original concept of the X1 was all about being digital, yet I still have to wait 3 hours after it’s released to download it, therefore punishing me for wanting to go digital.

    • Steph

Lol it’s 3hrs, not really punishing u at all. While I think it should be pre-loadable, it’s not that big a deal.

      • What about retailer specific pre-order bonuses that are being given away? It’s more than just a 3 hour wait. It’s the fact that there really is no incentive to go digital. You lose out on pre-order bonuses, you lose out on selling it, etc. If Microsoft wants to compete with Steam/Origin in the digital space they need to re-evaluate what they’re doing because currently it’s dated and broken.

        • Eric Masterson

so don’t go digital? lol some of us like not having the disc and case lying around taking up space lol but of course everyone wants more more more

    • The_Superior_Spider-Mon

From experience with PS3 Day One Digital, it was slow to download & install GTA V day one.
People might have to an extra 30 min to 1 hour just for the xbl store to update after midnight.
I just wish M$ just give X1 owners the option to pre-download/pre-install Titanfall over the weekend.

  • MegaMan3k

Microsoft continues to fail at digital on the Xbox One. I’m not even surprised anymore.

    • Steph

They fail because of time zones? Yeah real problem right there…..not.

      • MegaMan3k

        ur a derp

      • KillzoneVII

I think he’s referring to the fact that gamers still can’t pre-download digital games before they are released, like pc has been able to do for years and Sony recently started doing.

  • DanDustEmOff

Pre ordered on Origin after throughly enjoying the beta. We don’t get it till the 13th though.

  • Zachary Carter

“North America (United States, Mexico, Canada, Brazil): 3/11 – 12:00 AM EST” Hmm, so EST convert to GMT in my area is 6 hour difference. Yet titans drop in 01:06:45 which is 10pm on the 10th of March.

  • Grif

Started to pre-download Titanfall on the PC. 47 GB’s remaining, 8 hours and 15 minutes to go lol.

  • Cameron Purdie

Wow, that sucks. Why can’t they just stagger the release for different time zones?

  • Nimrod

Pfffft, different unlock times, what is this the 1990’s EA? Good old VPN trick on Origin and changing store region and purchasing from US on Xbox One will get people around this. Game on worldwide on the 11th! 😀

Pre-loaded and ready baby! 12AM EST!
