Upgrade Your Minecraft World to Next-Gen, Coming to Xbox One August

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is finally getting its much-needed next-gen upgrade this Summer, says creator Mojang.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is coming this August to the Xbox Live Marketplace and will only cost owners of the Xbox 360 Edition (disc or digital) a cool $4.99 to upgrade. The standalone version will cost $19.99. Note that the $4.99 upgrade price will only apply for the first year after its release, so you’ll have until about August, 2015 to take advantage of the deal.

As previously mentioned, Xbox 360 users will be able to import their saved game data and move their entire Minecraft world over to the Xbox One. According to the recent Xbox Wire post, most, but not all, of your downloaded skins and texture packs will also make the jump.

Excited to move on up to next-gen and re-explore your creations in higher definition?
