Watch Kevin Spacey’s Acting Performance in Latest Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Dev Diary

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s latest developer diary dives into the animation and art direction in Sledgehammer Games’ upcoming shooter.

You get to see a bit of the studio’s performance capture sessions, including shots of Kevin Spacey in his performance suit, which doesn’t look very comfortable. But, as demonstrated in Advanced Warfare’s E3 2014 gameplay demo, it seems to be paying off by showcasing some of the most realistic facial capture techniques we’ve seen in a video game yet.

Watch the video above, and if you missed it, you can also catch the previous developer diary on Advanced Warfare’s future tech right here.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare drops this November 4 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

This game doesn’t look that bad at all. Its story looks great from what I’ve seen, and I think if they don’t screw up like Ghosts, this could be one of the best shooters of 2014. I don’t know, nor do I care how much “innovation” there is because gosh-darn it, I just want a game that I won’t get bored of. Maybe this will fill the gap?

From what I’ve seen so far:

    Advanced Warfare > Battlefield Hardline

    Just my opnion

    • *Just everyone’s opinion.

Unlike AW, i already could play Hardline and it was great. Hardline is way more fun than BF4.
Call of Duty has to show that its not more camping like Ghosts…

The comparisons can end now, Hardline just got delayed to early 2015.

You’re gonna regret it…..just my opinion

Honestly don’t know if it’s worth pulling £40 out again just for this. I’ll savor for a demo to make sure it’s worth it. Or i’ll test it around a friends house to make sure it’s worthy of £40.

Im neither impressed by BF hardline or the new COD.

It’s funny to see every year, these dev diaries they speak of all the new cool things you can do, only they fail to mention it’s all limited to exactly what the DEVELOPERS intended it to used for, in that specific setting at that specific place in the campaign. In the trailers we see taking off car doors with the exoskeleton suit, hover-jets, climbing on walls, jumping really high and falling really high etc… ALL of this will be used the most linear way possible. It’s like the developers say these things that are in the end just lies, so much they actually believe it themselves… cause every year it ends up that only 10% from the campaign makes it into the MP and the rest just stays at that/those very specific places in the campaign.

In reality the gamers are bunch of deluded fools wasting there time on videogame.
And they keep sucking your paper money.

    • Quigs

What about people watching sports, are they fools for wasting there time feeling like they did something even though they just sat there and drank?
