Battlefield 4 Alpha Trial Starts Tomorrow, PC Spec Requirements Detailed

Those who have been patiently waiting on the alpha testing stages of DICE’s latest FPS, Battlefield 4, to get underway won’t have to wait much longer. Invites to the Battlefield 4 alpha are being sent now, with the full alpha trial going live tomorrow.

According DICE dev ‘TheBikingViking,’ those who didn’t receive an alpha invite yet should not expect one coming their way anytime soon, as there’s only going to be one batch of alpha trial invites going around for BF4. Those who did get accepted, your invitation should be in your inbox now.

Of course, since this is an alpha trial, don’t expect any of the mind-blowing quality visuals that we saw during the E3 2013 event. Most textures outside of soldiers and vehicles would be incomplete, as shown in the leaked alpha photos that surfaced not too long ago.

He also notes that this is a ‘white-box’ alpha trial which is meant to test server related issues to insure that come the official launch of the game, it’ll be smooth as possible, and of course to gather gameplay feedback from those luckily enough to play the trial.

For the alpha trial PC specs requirements, check out the list below:

  • OS: Vista SP2, Win7 (Win8 not supported)
  • 64 bit (32 bit not supported)
  • Dx10 or Dx 11 GPU with 1+GB of RAM, Dx 11 highly recommended
  • 25GB HDD free space required
  • Latest Origin version required

Battlefields 4’s alpha trial is expected to last up to 14 days, meaning the cut-off date for the alpha trial is July 1.

You can get your hands on Battlefield 4 this fall on October 29, for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with next-generation consoles’ release date to be announced in the near future.
