Activision Confirms “Major” Destiny Content Release For 2015 Followed By A “Very Robust Pipeline Plan”

Enjoying a successful launch with Bungie’s new IP, Destiny, video game publisher Activision shared a positive outlook for the new franchise going into 2015, confirming that new content following the title’s previously-confirmed second DLC is indeed on the way.

Speaking during the company’s Q4 2014 earnings call, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg reaffirmed the launch of Destiny’s House of Wolves DLC for the second quarter of 2015, which is said to introduce new gear, story missions, and co-op missions.

In addition, Hirshberg made note of a “major content release for Fall” of 2015 and confirmed a “very robust pipeline plan after that” during a brief Q&A session at the end of the call.

No specifics were shared, but the new details fall in line with some of the latest rumors surrounding future Destiny content, including a significant late 2015 DLC release allegedly called “Comet” followed by an additional two mid-sized content packs throughout the course of 2016.

Over in Bungie’s latest Weekly Update, Destiny community man David “DeeJ” Dague echoed Hirshberg’s comments, mentioning that “There is a special team here that’s dedicated to creating some new ways for you to play Destiny.”

“They’re also making the game you know a better reflection of what we’ve learned about you since you’ve started playing,” he added. “While they do their thing, we’ll walk the fine line between making you a part of the process and providing them with a safe place to explore possibilities and do their best work.”

“And on a long enough timeline, we’ll also talk about what we’re planning for this Fall.”
