Rumor: Call of Duty 2021 Will Feature a WW2-Themed Warzone Map at Launch, Will Share Tech With Modern Warfare Engine

Call of Duty: Warzone 100 Million Users

Call of Duty 2021, allegedly called Call of Duty: Vanguard, will skip the all-digital E3 show this year per a new report, but Warzone fans are in for some good news, as Sledgehammer Games is reportedly planning to have a World War 2-themed map at launch for Warzone!

Initially reported by (VGC), Call of Duty 2021 will be skipping E3, as it prepares for Vanguard’s launch. The release is still expected to come by late November, and it will include new vehicles and “a significant amount of content planned.”

VGC was informed that both Vanguard and Warzone will be sharing the same technology with the Modern Warfare engine.

Vanguard will feature a campaign, multiplayer and zombies modes set in the European and Pacific theatres of World War II, with its plot centring around the birth of modern allied Special Forces.

The Vanguard map, according to the same report is expected to be larger than Warzone’s Verdansk map, which is contrary to earlier rumors on how it will be smaller. Regardless though, this  should be a godsend for those getting tired of Verdansk.
