Not much has changed it seems, no? Except for maybe how grenades are handled for controllers.
With DICE revealing the progression and cosmetics, some might be wondering where the franchise’s familiar dog tags come into play. It seems they are being replaced by Player Cards! Community Manager Kevin Johnson confirmed this over on Twitter where he says this is the new dog tag.
And speaking of Player Card, this is your new "Dog Tag" in #Battlefield 2042
Within it, you will be able to change elements such as your Player Icon + Title, Player Card Art, and use those badges you've unlocked through play to show off at the bottom of your card too!

While the controls might not have changed much, taking out dog tags is a big thing. However, it seems Player Cards do offer more customization, so I’ll reserve judgement on that until at least after we’ve all played the game, and seen how it looks in-game.
We’re expecting more Battlefield 2042 news to be released as we get nearer to the beta start date, so stay tuned!
Battlefield 2042 shoots out this November 19 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
