Rumor: PS5 Pro Controller in the Works, Will Feature Back Buttons, Removeable Analog Sticks

A new leak claims that PlayStation will be releasing a new PS5 Pro controller sometime soon. While many fans are still having a hard time even getting their hands on a PlayStation 5, the new controller seems to be trying to appeal to the most serious of PlayStation gamers that want a more customizable controller.

The leak comes from the credible leaker Tom Henderson, who is well known for leaking information about Battlefield and Call of Duty. The leak also seems believable as Xbox has supported its successful line of pro controllers for a few years now while PlayStation players have had to opt for third-party options. So, it seems logical that Sony would want to get a foot in that market with its own first-party pro controller.

The details of the leak also paint a believable picture that seems relatively standard for a pro controller. According to Tom Henderson, the details come from an image the leaker sent under the condition that the image not be shown. The article claims that the controller features paddles on the back that can be programmed to different inputs, which has become a pretty popular feature for controllers in recent years.

Henderson claims that the leaked image also reveals the controller will feature removable grips to make the controller easier to hold, unspecified software updates, and removable analog sticks that will make it so players only have to buy new analog sticks if theirs begin to drift.

Rumors have circulated about Sony announcing new hardware later this month, so it seems likely that fans will get their first official look at the new controller soon. However, you should take the information with a grain of salt since it is still just a rumor that has yet to be officially confirmed.
