Absolver Hits Over 18,000 Concurrent Players on Steam, Despite Server Issues

While Sloclap’s debut game, Absolver, just got released a few days ago, it seems the martial arts, action-RPG game is already a big hit — at least on PC. Over on Steam, the Absolver player count has already reached close to 19,000 concurrent players for today.

What makes this even more impressive is that Absolver has kind of had a rocky online launch on PC. While you can play the game online, there is a big part of the game that focuses on online multiplayer. It’s gotten so bad that Slocap released a statement on the game’s website about the stability of the online portion, and to announce that region lock will be turned off soon (currently, players can only play with people in the same region). Even the PS4 version hasn’t been spared by the launch woe blues.

Online stability

We are aware that some players are facing big lag issues, preventing them from enjoying the online experience in Absolver.
We apologize for the rocky start, the team is working night and day to improve this. We have a couple of major fixes in the works, which should be deployed next week and should improve these issues. Thank you for your patience!

Region Lock

We are working on updating our system to allow players to invite their friends to their game session, even if they are in a different region. More news on this should come next week.

PS4 crashes creating corrupted saves

After investigating, unfortunately, saves that have been corrupted are not recoverable. We are working on fixing the crashes that resulted in corrupted saves and are thanking all the players who took the time to discuss with us and send more infos on this topic.
In the meantime, we advise you to activate the Saved Data in Online Storage on your PlayStation 4.

Oceania Servers

Oceanian servers will be deployed by Friday, which should dramaticaly improve online performances in this region. Sorry for the delay; other regional servers will be deployed in the near future to ensure an optimal experience worldwide.

We set up two email addresses so you can send us any issue you encounter in both PC and PS4:
PC: support_pc@sloclap.com
PS4: support_ps4@sloclap.com

Bear in mind that this 18K+ number doesn’t even include the PS4 version, which should add a few thousand or so given the positive reviews it’s gotten so far.

Sloclap’s Pierre Tarno has issued a statement to PCGamer and said that “the main issue has been diagnosed” in terms of server instability, and that a patch should go out next week. This patch shouldn’t be confused with the title update released earlier today that fixed a few bugs.
