If you’re a closed beta participant, who’s been hunting for the rumored Sea of Thieves kraken, know that you’re not alone. I know of many players searching for the beast, including myself, who have tried and failed to find the mythical monster.
If you’re disappointed about the limited content found within the beta, and concerned that the full release will be just as empty, it’s time to turn that frown upside down. Reddit user m4rx has been datamining the Sea of Thieves beta files, and has found a lot of unused assets that point towards greater adventures. And yes, these include a kraken!

Focusing on the kraken, m4rx says that it has animations for “wrapping the ship, power throwing players, and eating them.” Only models for the kraken’s tentacles have been found, with the body, mouth, and head missing.
