The Last of Us 2 Release Date Announced Along With New Trailer

The Last of Us 2 release date

In Sony’s PlayStation State of Play has finally ended, and to close things off a brand-new video for The Last of Us: Part II (stylized as The Last of Us 2) has been released giving us a new look at the title along with an official The Last of Us 2 release date.

PlayStation owners will finally be able to get their hands on the much anticipated sequel on February 21, 2020. The Last of Us Part 2 is currently available for pre-order at retails and digital on the PlayStation Store, stay tune as we’ll have details on all the available editions as they get announced. We can expect more news relating to The Last of us Part 2 later this week as invited members of the press are currently having some hand-on experience with the game. We’ll be sure to keep you all updated as new information is released on the title, and hopefully we hear something about the online multiplayer real soon.

For those that didn’t know, the original launched with a rather impressive multiplayer dubbed as factions. Factions featured a wide variety of modes that included classic modes such as Team Deathmatch and had players taking sides with either Hunters or the Fireflies. The main focus on the single player was survival, and for the most factions had captured that same experience as players would fight with one another in a rather tense environment. The scavenging and crafting mechanic made its way into the multiplayer, giving players a diverse arsenal of weapons and gadgets that they could use. Overall it was definitely one of the best multiplayer that Naughty Dog has created and hopefully the sequel continues to build off of it.

Again The Last of Us Part 2 will officially be releasing on February 21 ,2020 exclusively for the PlayStation 4. No news on whether or not we will see a port released for the next generation of PlayStation, though we do suspect with backwards capabilities that the title will be updated in do time.
