Activision Confirms New Call of Duty Will Be Released This Year, Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software

Call of Duty 2020 Puzzle

While Activision has still not officially announced this year’s Call of Duty, which is unheard of given we usually hear about the year’s new COD game in May, the publisher confirmed that it’s still set for release later this year. What’s more, this new Call of Duty game isn’t just being made by one studio!

In Activision’s most recent financial earnings call, the publisher confirmed that the both Treyarch and Raven Software are co-developing this year’s Call of Duty game, which is rumored to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

According to Activision, this year’s new COD will be out in Q4 2020, which is from October to December 2020. Sadly, not specific release window has been given, but at least we know it’s coming at some point.

While we already know that Treyarch will be developing this year’s Call of Duty thanks to the confirmation of pro players earlier this year, news that Raven Software is involved is definitely new info. Raven Software has primarily been seen as a “support” studio for other Call of Duty mainline studios such as Infinity Ward and Treyarch, with the studio assisting in last year’s Modern Warfare.

We’re hoping official Call of Duty 2020 news will make its way out soon. In the meantime, go check out the multiplayer info leak that surfaced last month.
