Crystal Dynamics Is Committed to Marvel’s Avengers for “Years to Come,” Roadmap Being Worked On

Marvel's Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers next-gen versions are launching next week along with the new Hawkeye DLC, and while fans are getting geared up to run through it, some might have wondered what exactly is next for the title. While nothing has officially been outlined, Crystal Dynamic has assured its fans that they plan on supporting Marvel’s Avengers for “years to come.”

In the latest developer stream showcasing Hawkeye, Crystal Dynamic took to the Twitch chat to answer some fan questions, in which many of them revolved around the future support of the game. While they didn’t reveal exactly what was in store (we assume the DLC will,) Crystal Dynamic did take this opportunity to clear the air, and confirm that they will continue working on Avengers for the coming years.

We understand, but rest assured we’re committed to the future of Marvel’s Avengers for years to come, and have been working on a whole lot of things, which we’re excited to reveal! Looking forward to seeing you there in next-gen!

For those wondering when we might see the reveal of this content, well, there is the Square Enix event set next week where the publisher has mentioned that something Marvel’s Avengers-related will be shown. The team didn’t say exactly what, but did say that fans should be excited to watch it.

Nonetheless, Crystal Dynamics did at least confirm that they have been working on a roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers, but sadly aren’t ready to show it just yet. When they do though, it should hopefully please the community by better providing them with the long requested insight they have wanted since the launch of the game.

Don’t forget, Crystal Dynamics did say that the upcoming Future Imperfect DLC is “just the beginning,” which could mean that there’s a ton more Marvel’s Avengers content headed our way.

I would love it if they released the road map to the fans and showed us the upcoming avengers and stories they’re going to add. Maybe create a road map for the year but reveal the next 3 months to keep fans wanting more.

This game NEEDS more content…and FAST. More so, this game needs a laid out plan that is transparent to it’s consumers. There have been too many looter style games that promise the world and give next to nothing after launch. Looking at you Anthem. I know this isn’t Anthem or even EA, but this sure gives out similar negative vibes. It would be great if they started giving out content once every 2 weeks to once per month to keep us engaged in the game. This game deserves better because at it’s core, it’s fantastic. The combos and fighting are damn good and I’d would love to see more of these characters. They should have had enough characters/content at launch to drip feed its consumers at least once per month considering how many Avengers there are available. Now would have been a perfect time to launch a WandaVision pack. It would be great if they added 2 heroes at a time as well, considering this is a co-op game and everyone wants to play as the new character when they launch.

Yes, I agree. I used to play it regularly too but the dripfeed of content was insanely slow. I mean new skins aren’t exactly going to get people playing more often. We need new villains, new environments, and significant rewards.

It’s not helping that Outriders is on the horizon too. I mean, kinda different games, but at the same time kinda similar too.

Roadmap?
I heard that before with Anthem.

I feel kinda sorry for Crystal Dynamic. If they where a month earlier maybe people would have listened a bit more to these commitments. But with Anthem and Artifact revealing the true nature of this kind of spiel: that promises of commitment and roadmaps have no true value and is no guarantee the game won’t get shut down anyway. Things are looking a bit grim for CD

Working on the roadmap.
The roadmap is the schedule to work on the game’s updates.
So they are working on when they are gonna work on updates.
This game is going the way of the Anthem.

Things are done already. They’re just trying to figure out a release schedule.

This game is nothing like Anthem.

Wow, congratulations. 4 years AFTER the game started development and they are beginning to work on a roadmap. This is the definition of DEAD ON ARRIVAL. I hear EA will be starting to plan their roadmap for Anthem in 2023……… 4 years after it DOAed and 2 years after their official announcement of them admitting the game being dead a month ago.

That remark about working on a Roadmap is deception in its finest. As several people noted this doesn’t imply work on actual material that will impact gamers. Its like a chef saying they are working on a menu for dinner. They didn’t say they were cooking anything. The only reason these remarks are surfacing is because they want to squeeze a few sales out of the coming next gen versions.

we will have to see. They’ve been open about working on content, the issue is they never outlined it. It WAS originally suppose ot be a month to month thing but Covid, Chad death (they delayed black panther DLC) had an effect.

Still though, it’s pretty barren as a game

They will have to show people. Additional material is not going to be effective either. The initial design is flawed. If they are able to provide some sense of value to those that already purchased it then I wish those gamers the best. But this game is on a road that leads to a dead end. If you changed the developer and name of the game you could back up a year and insert Bioware and Anthem.

I keep hoping there will be a Market-based game like City of Heroes (design your own hero MMORPG) with AI Marvel heroes for NPCs and mission guides/mentors and procedurally-generated missions.
