EA Is Now Creating Its Own Battlefield Bots

xbox games with gold November download

EA is creating its own Battlefield bots using the Search for Extraordinary Experiences Division (SEED). SEED’s aim is to provide a self-learning AI that is able to teach itself to play games. This isn’t a pre-programmed system; the bots literally play and learn as they go.

If SEED is able to successful create an AI that accurately imitates how gamers play, they could become a vital resource for pre-launch testing.

Check out the video below to see the Battlefield bots in action!

EA’s Search for Extraordinary Experiences Division (SEED) — a team that explores the future of interactive entertainment — has built a self-learning AI-agent that taught itself how to play Battlefield 1 multiplayer from scratch.

An interview with SEED Technical Director Magnus Nordin goes into more detail about what the technology is capable of, and what the future holds. Read it here.

In other Battlefield news, the BF1 console Community Test Environment has been discontinuedBattlefield V has been confirmed by what is reportedly an EA Play 2018 banner, and more leaks point towards Battlefield V being this year’s game.

This excites me a lot for what could be coming for the next Battlefield game if they can get this Adaptable AI ready in time for when Battlefield V is released!

So far the leaks did say there was going to be a COOP Conquest mode against AI so maybe these bots will be for that?

And since they have been playtesting them on Battlefield 1 maybe they will be added to the game for us to play with and against in a big update later on.

That would be Amazing!

BF Bots….. Why? Are there not enough players playing Battlefield games to fill the rooms anymore? EA/DICE needs to add fake players to even things out and keep the BF franchise alive?

Why not just make Battlefield games fully Clan supported? Provide players with rooms for 16 vs 16 or 32 vs 32 players and let the online War Clans have at it? Like SONY and Zipper did with their SOCOM games with 16 vs 16 or EA/DICE did with Battlefield 3 games with 12 vs 12?

There was a huge SOCOM and BF3 Clan sub-culture with Custom User Private Servers for Clan wars between War Clans. Large private and public competitions and online Tournaments. Our Clan gave up on BF4 just weeks after it was release due to it’s lack of Clan Support after BF3’s decent Clan Support.

Small Co-op Battlefield game rooms of 4 vs 4 don’t work for large PS4 war Clans of 100+ members. My Clan had well over 100+ members. We rented 5 User Custom Private BF3 Servers for all our members to play on Clan nights and every night during the week and on weekends. Now… members have left because we have no decent war games to play. CoD WW2 and Battlefield 4 and BF1 were trash. We bi-passed those completely. Our old SOCOM and BF3 war players gave up video gaming completely! Those games were all they played. Our members were current and retired military players wanting to play good war games.

Now… the new Battlefield 5 game is going to be ANOTHER WW2 game… just like the current CoD WW2 game is. Now that’s real innovation by EA/DICE! Just copy CoD WW2 and expect big sales! Not likely. Not from us!

So my Clan is retired but not dead…. yet. We are waiting for a good Clan Supported Modern War game similar to Battlefield 3. If we don’t find something soon… it may be time for a new hobby. As for buying a new PlayStation 5… Why? There weren’t enough good war games for the PS4! I’ll wait for months after the PS5 is released… and see if video gaming is worth the effort anymore. It may be time to hang up the PS game hand controller.
