ea covid-19

With multiple studios now instructing devs to work from home due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, it seems even publishers are getting in on it as well, with programs designed to incentivize people to stay at home. EA has announced just that with their “Stay Home. Play Together” initiative as part of the EA COVID-19 plans for players. Don’t forget that people should also stay healthy even while at home. You may want to try some creatine-free workouts and stay on top shape.

EA is using the hashtag “StayAndPlay to spotlight some of the stuff content creators and members of the different EA gaming communities are making their contribution by staying at home.

Here’s some of the highlights via the press release:

  • March 26 | Apex CodeRed Tourney | Influencers/Pros played Apex for $50K and $250K was donated to the International Red Cross.

  • April 1-2 | EA SPORTS Madden NFL 20 held a live tournament on Twitch (1M+ Unique Madden Live Stream Viewers in 2 days) where NFL fans watched their favourite athletes go head-to-head in the NFL Checkdown x Madden Tournament.  The final saw Derwin James, Free Safety for the Los Angeles Chargers, crowned the champion.

  •  April 6-17 | The Sims 4 launched a week-long program allowing players check in on their favourite Sims creators and connect through a series of livestreams hosted on The Sims Twitch channel

  • April 18 & 20, May 2 & 4, May 30 & June 1 | Apex Legends | Global Series recently added three new Online Tournaments with a prize pool of $100K each to help keep the gaming community safe and connected.

We’re with EA on this. Stay at home, people! Stay at home, play games, spend time with your loved ones. The faster we get through this, the faster we go back to our usual lives.

No one’s talks online so why bother with multiplayer?

Ea multiplayer is like a compilation if drudgery taking the worst parts of gaming and then making you play with imbeciles that couldn’t bag your groceries.

Battlefield is a perfect example of their atrocious game design and frankly, sadly, it only falls off a cliff from there.

Get your self a quality single player game and just say no to dru.. “games as service”.
