Early Look at Anthem Map Size Shows How Massive the Game Is

Based on what we’ve seen of Anthem so far, the game world looks to be huge, which is to be expected, given players will be able to fly around the environments. During yesterday’s livestream by BioWare, the studio showed us a quick look at the Anthem map, and it’s huge!

Reddit user DaanLyb made a small overlay of the map, which gives us an idea on how big the game world is.

If you see the bottom part of the image, you’ll notice a red line, and this is the flight path, and it’s more pronounced for the latest trek, and it fades in time.

Note that it isn’t know whether this is the entire game world map, or if there’s more. BioWare has been mum on that part yet. If this is indeed just one part, perhaps the game has multiple maps which is akin to Destiny’s multi-planet set up. Also, based on what we’ve seen from gameplay, players won’t be able to traverse an area in one straight line given how there are mountains, vast bodies of water, etc., in the way.

Means absolutely nothing if it’s mostly empty. IE Wildlands. Giant map. Nothing to do in 90% of it.

Quit being impressed by magic tricks, simpleton.

So this is what we get instead of games better than last gen’s Mass Effect series with new ideas. Profits were just pushed into that typical EA multi-million dollar flashy marketing campaign machine and exec/shareholder pockets for more yachts – not games, like Activision Blizzard is catching on with now. Then AAA pushes out PR lies and telling us it’s really the games that cost too much to justify price gouging, monetized Live Service apps vs raising base flat prices.

Marketing can make a turd look amazing, especially when only a few assets need to be shown. Gamers fall for the flashy marketing every time by AAA. It will sell because all the sponsored streamers, youtubers, and journalists posing as gamers dont want to burn that EA meal ticket.

Anything that is linked to Hudson is going to worry me. But I will try the beta in a week or two.

Wasn’t Hudson the executive lead on ME1-3?

He is the one that told the fans that all your choices will matter in Mass Effect 3, and Hudson also decided to have no peer review for the ending to Mass Effect 3. I started to lose faith in him after this happened.

So one bad decision is going to ruin all the great things he DID do in ME1-3?
