If you’re a fan of Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn, you might have heard of the studio’s next project, “The Dark Pictures Anthology – Man of Medan.” While it’s been known for quite some time now, Bandai Namco Entertainment has today announced the Man of Medan multiplayer modes! Yes, the horror game will feature some sort of multiplayer.

In the press release, Bandai Namco not only shared a new Man of Medan multiplayer trailer, but also the two modes — Shared Story Mode, and Movie Night Mode.

Shared Story Mode

  • Share the story simultaneously with a friend in two-player online co-op

  • Both players explore the world, make choices and perform actions that affect the outcome of the story and the fate of their respective characters

  • Traverse scenes through a different perspective from the single-player experience—sometimes together, sometimes apart—in totally separate scenes revealing new information, locations and scares

Movie Night Mode

  • Play locally in a group of up to five players with one controller, with each player taking charge of the movement, decisions and choices of one of the five main characters

  • Players can choose between saving themselves, or trying to keep their friends’ characters alive

  • At the end of each playthrough, actions and impacts will be judged – with achievements & rewards for each player

Here’s the game description if you’re not familiar with the game:

Developed by Supermassive Games, the critically-acclaimed studio behind the cult-classic thriller Until Dawn™, The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of standalone cinematic horror games linked by one common element: that every playable character can live and every playable character can die throughout the story, yielding numerous possible endings and near-limitless replayability. Man of Medan will be anchored by a talented cast of actors, including stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men, Quantum Break) and Pip Torrens (The Crown, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), the latter of which will be a consistent character, the Curator, in all games in the anthology. Both actors’ likenesses will be rendered in vivid detail.

Man of Medan will be released this August 30, 2019 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
