While microtransactions in games are usually hated by gamers, every now and then, it manages to redeem itself for a good cause. Well, we have just that with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Defender Pack! This cosmetic DLC is part of the Call of Duty Endowment initiative by Activision to benefit military veterans.
Priced at $9.99 (or 1,000 COD Points), players will get 11 items in it. There’s a Blueprint for the .357 revolver, an Operator watch that shows the Call of Duty Endowment logo, stickers, emblems and more! Check out a quick look at what’s in it in the image below sent via the press release.
According to Activision, 100 percent of the net proceeds received from the Modern Warfare Defender Pack will “directly to placing military veterans into high quality jobs through the Call of Duty Endowment.”
This is your way of supporting veterans, and at the same time, get something nice in return in the game, too.
This isn’t the first time Activision has used Modern Warfare cosmetic DLC to help a good cause. Earlier this year, the publisher gave all proceeds (for a limited time) of its Outback Pack to help aid the Australia bushfire relief fund.
