Report: Call of Duty 2019 to Simply Be Titled as “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”

With rumors floating for months now that Call of Duty 2019 will be another entry in the Modern Warfare saga, people were quick to jump to the conclusion that it will indeed be called “Modern Warfare 4,” given the last entry in the franchise was titled Modern Warfare 3.

Apparently, Activision is dropping the numerical sequencing, and is instead going with “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.” Yep, that’s it. Given how the first Modern Warfare game was titled Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, maybe Activision doesn’t want to confuse gamers? Then again, I don’t see how they’d get confused.

Apparently, this new Modern Warfare game will be a “soft reboot” of the first game, and it’ll go heavy on emotional moments like that infamous “No Russian” mission in Modern Warfare 2.

This new report on the game has been leaked by YouTuber LongSensation, which was then verified by Kotaku. It’s worth mentioning that a bunch of press people and influencers have visited Activision HQ to get some face time with this year’s Call of Duty game.

According to Eurogamer, the official reveal of the game will happen on May 30th, next week.
