While official confirmation (and logic) have only mentioned that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would just be launching on Activision’s own service, Battle.net, it appears that there may indeed be a Modern Warfare Steam release.
In a recent giveaway announcement by Nvidia, the company revealed that they were giving winners a $50 Steam credit towards a purchase of a supported RTX (real time ray tracing) title. All you had to do was simply retweet and DM (direct message) them on Twitter which title you’d be getting as shown below.
SPIN TO WIN.
Which of the growing number of amazing RTX titles will you get?

And in case you couldn’t catch that, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was indeed apart of the many images flashing in that .gif that do support RTX. To take this a step further, Nvidia even replied back to announce one of the many winners, one of them saying they would purchase Modern Warfare via Steam.
We’re excited for you… because you’re getting it for free!
Shoot us a DM – we’ve got $50 Steam Cash with your name on it.

It is likely that this is a mistake, considering that Activision did confirm that the title would be launching on Battle.net from a previous press release, although it’s odd to give money away for a platform that doesn’t hold said specific game.
The title features a fully-optimized PC version, developed in partnership with Beenox, which will be available exclusively on Blizzard Battle.net®**, Blizzard Entertainment’s online gaming platform.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to launch on PC exclusively on Battle.net for now, with consoles (PS4, Xbox One) on October 25. Don’t forget to check back later in the day for the official multiplayer gameplay reveal.
