In case you haven’t been keeping tabs on the recent Battlefield news and developments, a fairly reliable leaker by the name of AlmightyDaq revealed that DICE is working on Battlefield: Bad Company 3. However, prominent Battlefield YouTuber LevelCap has refuted that and said his “sources inside” said it’s incorrect.
Well, AlmightyDaq has made another info leak, and this time, it paints a much clearer picture of what’s happening to the Battlefield franchise. In the video below, Daq mentions that DICE LA (formerly known as Danger Close responsible for Medal of Honor 2010, and Warfighter) is working on their own Battlefield game and that’s Bad Company 3. While DICE Sweden, which is the “main” studio, is working on Battlefield 2018, which we know more about of now.
Here’s a Reddit post from user WhoHereHasBeer that Daq says is the “perfect summation of the situation.”

I think I see what’s going on. Levelcap is basically saying, “hey, the leak is incorrect because there’s a different game coming out before BC3 in 2018” but more in kind of a douchey way. Basically just trying to discredit you and say it’s false even though he knows it technically isn’t false. Seems like something levelcap would do.
Moving on, according to Daq, the Battlefield 2018 entry will be a WW2 (World War 2) themed shooter, continuing from Battlefield 1, and “expanding” on everything that made BF1 great, and bringing it into a WW2 “atmosphere.” He adds that that DICE’s 2018 game is “visually stunning,” though is lacking in “feel” terms of the “gun game.”
All-out warfare fans will be glad to know that maps are said to be “huge,” and with improved destruction compared to BF1.
Regarding microtransactions, Daq mentioned that it will function in cosmetics only, which is the ideal scenario given the outburst from the gaming community following what happened to Star Wars Battlefront II.
Finally, Daq mentions that there’s no concrete title for DICE Sweden’s currently in development Battlefield game, though the final title has been “narrowed down to a handful.” You can check out the video of all the info here being discussed in the video below.
The tl;dr version of this all seems to be: DICE LA is working on Bad Company 3 (that won’t be released in 2018), while DICE Sweden’s Battlefield game will be WW2-themed, and due out next year. Daq is standing by his word that we WILL see Bad Company 3, though it might be a while before we do.
Once again, we’ve reached out to EA to seek a statement on the recent developments, and will update the post if and when they respond.

If true… that Battlefield 2018 turns into another tired overplayed WW2 shooter… I’m now done with anything Battlefield. CoD WW2 was a WW2… we don’t need another copy of WW2. Why the Hell would EA/DICE follow Activision and their crap CoD game with just another copy of theirs?? Boring WW1 and WW2 games suck anyway. EA/DICE gave up being a leader in the online modern war game franchise with their boring BF1 game.
If Battlefield Bad Company3 comes out after BF 2018 WW2… you won’t see BFBC3 until the end of 2020 or 2021 at best. I’ll bet BFBC3 won’t be out until 2022 or 2023. After the CoD WW2 game… a EA/DICE’s WW2 copy isn’t going to sell well. And that will delay any Bad Company3 game even further into the future. EA and DICE blew it. They blew it with Star Wars Battlefront 2 with the Loot boxes and microtransactions… and now they continue into the future with even more screw ups.
It looks like it’s time to sell my PS4… and get out of video gaming. There’s just nothing decent to play as an online Clan Supported current modern War game out there anymore. And playing with the little kids is a pain in the ass anyway!

COD WW2 was such an absolute joke that DICE actually would do it far better. Like how the hell do you ruin the Battle OF The Bulge and Omaha Beach into being so absolutely boring that when I beat COD WW2 I honestly just never want another WW2 game to focus on the Western Front again.
It’s so overdone now, and it’s not entertaining any more. When a nearly 2 decade old game has a better Omaha beach level, and in COD, Pointe Du Hoc from COD 2 was better than their modern Omaha beach it’s time to stop. Enough with the front.
The Eastern Front is far more interesting, far more brutal, and literally the reason the war was even won. I seriously hope that the next WW2 game, be it Dice doing it or somebody else, strictly focuses on that front.
Of course Red Orchestra 3 will focus on the Front since Tripwire aren’t scared to allow you to play as an SS soldiers, but for the sake of my wallet enough with Normandy!
Why is there always some dork like you talking about giving the devs a “chance?” When do they give you a chance? You pay them for a product. We don’t owe them trust. That isnt what happens in the transaction. You don’t pay them for trust… you pay them fro a product. They don’t sell to you based off how well they can trust you.. You either buy the game or you dont… That is literally how they see it. Why do you need to “give them a chance.” A chance for what? To make a game worth buying? We have done that for several games now. Battlefront 1 and 2 both sucked, the Hardline game sucks, BF1 is trash… give them a chance to do what???? Prove they going to make another crappy game? I hope not no offence but I said a WW1 game would be a terrible idea and it turned out to be true. Trench warfare is not fun at all. Them doing a WW2 is overkill at this point. They missed that mark. If Dice had really been listening to the community they would have released BfBC3 which everyone has been asking for so long now. I play BF4 and Bf3 still due to the lack of intrests that Bf1 holds.

Oh great, commenters now talking about how WWII is “overdone.” I concur, but let’s be real, pretty much all major/interesting war settings have been done to death by now. A new WWII Battlefield will be interesting, but not ideal. At least it’s “more modern” so they have to struggle less content-wise to make it fun. Whereas with BF1, everything was so far stretched from the context of WWI that it might as well have been a different setting altogether. BF1 is more fantasy-steampunk than actual WWI.
Battlefield needs to return to the modern era, and needs to focus less on CQC which has traditionally been COD’s forte, and more on what actually made BF a great franchise. Large-scale, combined arms gameplay. That means a focus on Conquest. It means a focus on medium-to-long range combat. It means powerful vehicles. It means expansive maps that aren’t just glorified themeparks with set-piece destruction.
Hopefully Bad Company 3 scratches this itch.

Not if BFBC3 turns into a ‘want-to-be’ CoD WW2 clone! If BFBC3 is another WW2 or Vietnam game… it won’t get my or my Clans 100+ members money! I think I’ll save my money for my new 65″ HDTV instead.
Someday… some PS4 game developer will get smart… and reinvent a new SOCOM or BF3 type of game for large groups of Clan friends to play together. Right now… large Clans have no decent war games to play!
A SOCOM remake would be great, but I think it’s probably too niche for today’s gaming scene. It hurts to write that!

Make the game look nice and over market based off that one aspect, piss everyone off with micro transactions and pay to win horse crap, cater to the newb and casual side of the market, rush the product, broken mess for the first 6 months, and make sure to piss off the devoted long term fans, alienate the core following, auto aim pistols, lock on galore, “more destruction” and the “biggest map you ever rode in your life. BF4 came out 4 yrs ago.. last BF game worth half a crap. PUBG and left field shooters taking the lions share and all because EA thinks being greedy and forcing crap no one wants is better than making games they built the franchises up to where they are. They cant listen, we dont have to spend.

Battlefield 3 was the last EA/DICE online MP modern war game with decent Clan Support and User Controlled Private Servers for Clan competitions and Public and Private tournaments. God… why can’t some game developer make a new SOCOM game for serious war gamers. Not this crap 4 vs 4 co-op games with pretty graphic effects??? Great game play makes great games! NOT PRETTY EXPLOSIONS!!
