Fans of the Rainbow Six series may be getting a huge update soon for the latest game, as Rainbow Six Siege datamining finds an unannounced DLSS 2.2 file — which may improve the performance of the game even more once released!
According to a Reddit user, the file was discovered while looking through the files, and here are the notes below.
So DLSS is finally released in this popular game and i’ve decided to check it out and benchmark it a bit, but in the middle of testing i find out that even performance mode is looking quite impressive, i mean no blurriness at all. So i thought maybe there is a better version of DLSS implemented, checked nvngx_dlss.dll file in the game directory and yes, it says it’s 2.2 version of DLSS. Most of the recently released games was using 2.1 version. I guess, it’s the first implementation of 2.2 version. You can check benchmarks below:

It is great to see that DLSS is evolving and keeps getting better and better 🙂 And some important note: DLSS in this game working only on Vulkan API, on DX11 it’s not even showing up in the settings, so keep that in mind
In other Rainbow Six Siege news, crossplay and cross-progression has been announced, and is expected to drop in “early 2022” for consoles.
