While Sony released a new PS4 firmware update just now to most likely plug the hole that was made by the PS4 message glitch, it seems not everything is A-OK with this the PS4 6.02 update.
Over on Reddit, multiple users have reported various issues with the update. Some have had their console crash, others have reported issues with the console’s sound, and others even had flickering issues.

For the flickering issue, user Sykuze mentioned that there was an issue with the 2160p – RGB option, and it seems he had to choose the YUV420 setting.

I don’t have a ps4 pro but I am having issues as well. I played online just fine but after watching Hulu the ps button on the controller no longer works and the system won’t shut down via the console. I am going to sleep and hope my system shuts down naturally so I can safe mode it in the a.m.
My ps4 problem is an online issue. I was required to set up my connection but when it came time to put in my password, I was told that it was not the correct password but it is the correct password. That is where I am currently. I am open to any suggestions as well as any information with my particular problem.

Since the update I’ve had regular black screens and errors – I tried rebuilding from the latest update and I’m still getting issues – it seems to be generating more heat than it used to, but I had no problems before 6.02 and regular issues as soon as I installed it.
I’ve formatted and reinstalled version 6 and 6.2 twice now. Every time the machine freezes up and since the power button no longer works, also quit working after the first freeze up. Can’t boot to safe mode. I made it crash twice by while trying to open the change theme settings and even though it already has version 6.20 it says I need to update to that version. I have it and version 6 on a USB stick that I used to get it going the last time and it says it isn’t on the stick at all and then reboots to do it all over again. I’d like to mail it to Sony filled with dog shit because ever since the first PS2 that’s all I’ve ever recieved from them and had to pay for every one of them. Many laser lenses and overheated cores from the shitty cooling systems they use. I’ve had 6 PS3’s with the same issues as the 2’s with the exception of the final version that somehow stills works fine even though we take it ice fishing all the time. When I bought a PS4 I was just a little mad that my surround sound won’t work because TV’s with HDMI don’t have audio outputs anymore. The wifi connection sucks on it. The media player has no volume controls and can’t play shit for video formats. This time I think it’ll be the last. I never get to use the damn thing because the kids are always hogging the internet with Netflix and youtube, both of which my TV can do without suddely shutting down after so long even though it’s set to never do that. What good is rest mode if it screws up everything if it gets unplugeed while in it? No godd and made even more worthless without PS Plus. They can keep there planet polluting, life-stealing overpriced gaming consoles from now on. I’m going outside instead.
