The Best Battlefield Game of All-Time – Bad Company 2 vs. Battlefield 3

Bad Company 2 vs. Battlefield 3

Just last week, I wrote a mini feature where I proclaimed that Battlefield 3 is the best Battlefield game of all-time. While a lot of people agreed to this, some pushed back hard, and more often than not, what people pointed out was nope, it’s not Battlefield 3, but rather, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 that was the best entry in the franchise.

With that in mind, let’s cut to the chase! We’ve set up a poll to ask readers which is the best Battlefield game of all-time — is it Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3? You can also vote “neither” if you’re one of the few who thinks it’s Battlefield V or something.

To make things more interesting, aside from leaving a vote, we’re asking people to leave a comment as well! Leave a comment, tell us why your pick is the best Battlefield game of all-time. The best comment on the winning game will win a S10 gift card from us! It can be from Amazon, Steam, Xbox Live, or the PlayStation Store, and yes, this is open worldwide! We’ll ask the winner what currency they want the gift card to be in and what region.

Bad Company 2 vs Battlefield 3 poll:

Which Battlefield is the best of all-time?

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Battlefield 3
Neither

Created with Survey Maker

Got that? Good. We’ll be closing entries for the poll and gift card by this weekend, November 8! So make sure to comment before then. As an added layer of security, we prefer that those who leave comments have a Twitter/Facebook account and leave it along with your comment, so that we can direct message that social media account. This means that you won’t be required to leave your email address out in the open, and we won’t get shady emails saying they’re user1024 who left the winning comment.

Feel free to hit us up below for any questions and whatnot.

Battlefield 3, for sure. Both critically and commercially, the game was a success! It also brought new players into the battlefield franchise (such as me). Yes, Bad Company 2 did have a better campaign and the multiplayer was a lot more dynamic, in terms of destruction and flow, but Battlefield 3 established so many foundational elements for the franchise today, BECAUSE the player base endeared it so much. Additionally, the post-launch DLC was amazing, it focused and expanded on key combat situations. While something like Conquest was all-out warfare, Close Quarters focused on, obviously, CQB-style CoD-esque gameplay. On the other hand, Armored Kill expanded on vehicle combat. You could play however you want in this game – it catered to all playstyles, meaning the design and philosophy behind creating it was all-encompassing.

I loved Bad Company 2 for such a long period of time, It truly changed my gaming experience and my expectations for other games. The introduction to destructible environments and all out larger scale battle with vehicles was incredible. BUT, if I am being honest with myself… Battlefield 3 felt more fluid especially for movement while retaining the great aspects of BC2. Add in the custom servers and Battlelog and it was just bound to move past BC2 as a great title. I think the maps were well designed for game flow and the vehicles/equipment complimented that perfectly. You also had some crazy moments shared via the “only in battlefield” campaign such as RendeZook https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOaGhE_sejI BC2 was a great game and a solid foundation but BF3 topped it by adding elements into what felt like a more feature complete and smoother game.

What made Battlefield 3 perfect was it not only took everything Bad Company 2 did and made it better, but it kept it very simple. There weren’t 72848 skins or customization options for every single thing. Pick a class, pick a gun, and go.

For me, it is Battlefield 4. I could play Siege of Shanghai ALL DAY. Its really about memories for me though. When I first got my Xbox One, my freind and and I played nothing but this for 2 days…it was a fun time that I will never forget as this friend passed away shortly thereafter. I still go back to the game often and remember our Siege binge as a great time in our lives.
