R6 Siege Update 1.000.053 Re-enables Match Replay Feature This April 27

The (Rainbow Six) R6 Siege update 1.000.053 download has been pushed out by Ubisoft on all platforms, and this is primarily for crashing fixes. Read on for what’s new in the R6 Siege April 27 patch notes.

R6 Siege Update 1.000.053 Patch Notes | R6 Siege April 27 Patch Notes:

Here’s the announcement from Ubisoft regarding today’s patch:

April 27 Hotfix:

Match Replay Re-enabled

The Match Replay feature will be re-enabled on PlayStation as issues with it causing crashes have been addressed.

While the tweet above mentions the PS5 specifically, we can confirm that the patch is out on all platforms. If there are any other changes or fixes tied to it, we’ll update the article once we know more.

As for what’s in store for the future, Ubisoft has revealed the Y8S1 mid-season roadmap update! We’ve included the incoming changes in future updates:

ROADMAP UPDATES

[MAIN FEATURE] PERMANENT ARCADE PLAYLIST

  • Status: confirmed for Y8S2

Permanent Arcade is one of the most anticipated playlists, and we are happy to announce that thanks to all the hard work put into it, this feature will release in Season 2! You will soon be able to play several new game modes and enjoy the return of out-of-the-ordinary matches!

[MAIN FEATURES] MAP REWORK: CONSULATE

  • Status: confirmed for Y8S2

You saw some rooms of the new Consulate map during the Year 8 Reveal Panel, but we can now confirm that the new reworked map will be released in Season 2. As one of Siege’s oldest maps, this major rework is not to be taken lightly; it required a complete rebuild from the ground up.

[MAIN FEATURES] NEW TARGET MODES IN THE SHOOTING RANGE

  • Status: confirmed for Y8S2

As announced at the Six Invitational 2023, we are bringing even more training features to Siege this year than ever before. We are working on several new features and enhancements of the Shooting Range, and they are now confirmed to release with Season 2. Lock and load Operators, the updated Shooting Range will be one of the best ways to put your skills to the test!

[BALANCING] REWORK OF OPERATOR FROST

  • New target delivery: Y8S3

We shifted the target delivery of the rework of Operator Frost following the Community’s feedback and comments after the Year 8 Reveal Panel at the Six Invitational. A first test of these balancing changes will be playable on the Y8S2 LAB TS in June. We want to make sure we do not hinder our dear Canadian Operator’s effectiveness in the field while we aim to bring more balance and gameplay opportunities with the update to her gadget.

[BALANCING] NEW OBSERVATION BLOCKER GADGET

  • Earlier target delivery: Y8S2 instead of Y8S3

As we have shifted the target delivery of the Operator Frost Rework, we are aiming to release the new observation blocker gadget a full season earlier than announced at the Six Invitational. This new Intel Denial gadget will soon be in your hands!

[BALANCING] [NEW] GRIM BUFF

  • Target delivery: Y8S2 (Part I) and Y8S4 (Part II)

We are actively working on Operator Grim to improve his impact. In order for you to get your hands on this rework sooner, we have broken this update into two parts. The first update is set to be released in Season 2, and the next one in Season 4.

If there are any other changes in this patch that surfaces, we’ll be sure to update the article.

Monster Hunter Rise Update 13.000.001 Arrives for April 26 (Update)

A new update for Monster Hunter Rise on the PS5 has been released! Here’s what we know about Monster Hunter Rise Update 13.000.001.

Monster Hunter Rise Update 13.000.001 Patch Notes | Monster Hunter Rise April 26 Patch Notes

Update: Capcom has announced details regarding today’s patch for PlayStation and Xbox!

Monster Hunter Rise has been updated to Ver. 13 on Xbox, Windows, and PlayStation. This update adds the Black Belt S armor set and High Rank Defender Weapon tree. This gear can help you speed through the base game and into #Sunbreak as soon as possible.

This update also includes Kamura Village Welcome Set 5 item pack! Stock up and get ready for all that awaits in Master Rank when #Sunbreak launches on Friday.

The game data for Sunbreak should be part of the patch as well, even if it’ll be available at a later date on Friday.

There are no official patch notes from Capcom on this one yet, though we assume it’s related to the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion that launches this week on the PS5. It may be safe to conclude that this patch also includes title update 15, which was released last week. So, for now, we’ll list the details of that patch and will update the post should Capcom release anything official.

Expansion of countermeasures for mods

  • The filtering function for automatically identifying unauthorized quests has been expanded, preventing players from accepting such quests at the Quest Counter, as well as preventing other players from accepting such quests in the unlikely event that they can be found on the Quest Board.
  • If players joined an unauthorized quest midway via a Join Request, a message will be displayed in chat, recommending you to leave the quest.

New Story Elements

  • A new monster has been added and will appear in Gathering Hub quests.
  • New afflicted monsters and a new Risen elder dragon have been added to the game.
  • New quests have been added.

Monster Hunter Rise Update 13.01 Breaks Out April 26 for PlayStation and Xbox (Update)

Capcom has released the Monster Hunter Rise Update 13.01 ahead of the Sunbreak expansion launch.

Monster Hunter Rise Update 13.01 Patch Notes | Monster Hunter Rise April 26 Patch Notes

Capcom has yet to officially release the patch notes for this update, though going based on the fact that the PC and Switch versions received title update 15 last week, it may be safe to assume this update adds the same content of that patch as well as the Sunbreak expansion which launches on both PlayStation and Xbox this Friday. New NetEase Games Studio “Anchor Point Studios” Announced; Action-Adventure Title in the Works

A new video game studio under NetEase Games has been announced. Named “Anchor Point Studios,” it is based in Barcelona, Spain, and Seattle, United States, with “industry veterans” among its ranks. The studio aims to develop an action-adventure game for both console and PC.

The studio is founded by Paul Ehreth, a game designer and director known for his work on Control and Halo. Ehreth now spearheads the studio alongside other developers who have worked on games such as Ghost of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption 2, and The Division. Ehreth’s LinkedIn profile reveals that the action-adventure title in development will be made in Unreal Engine 5.

Anchor Point Studios is mainly Barcelona-based, but the company aims to hire up to 100 people across Europe and North America, including developers, technical artists, and designers, with office, remote, or hybrid work options available.

Here’s what Simon Zhu, president of global investments and partnerships at NetEase Games, had to say regarding Ehreth and Anchor Point Studios:

When we met Paul, we immediately realized he had the passion to create truly magical worlds, with experiences that are surprising and offer something new every single time they are played. Achilles: Legends Untold Coming to PlayStation & Xbox Consoles Q3 2023, Along With Full PC Release

Dark Point Games has announced that its Steam Early Access RPG Achilles: Legends Untold will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles (both generations) in Q3 2023. Accordingly, the full PC release has also been delayed to coincide with the console launch in order to provide an equal experience across all platforms and add additional content.

Dark Point Games’ Achilles: Legend Untold is an isometric action RPG that lets players assume the role of Achilles in ancient Greece. As the legendary hero, players take on giant mythological creatures and historical warriors with the help of an innovative Group AI Action (GAIA) system. In Steam Early Access since last May, the game was previously slated for a full release in Q2 2023 before the announcement of the current delay. The developer plans to use the additional time to release at least two additional large updates for the game, featuring new maps, bosses, story content, “redesigned” co-op, a character development system, and much more.

From Pawel Waszak, CEO of Dark Point Games:

The simultaneous release of the game for PCs and consoles, and therefore the postponement of the release of the full version of the game for PCs, will allow us to fully realize the potential of Achilles. As a result, we will have additional content for you, which will add even more variety and enrichment to the gameplay. We will continue to listen to your feedback, which will allow us to better tailor the game to your needs and expectations. Ultimately, we want every player to be able to enjoy the game on their favourite platform, so the release of the full version will be available on all major platforms. Each of these steps is essential for you to have an unforgettable experience and for us to succeed in the world of video games.

We are a team that loves creating games for our players, and moving the Early Access release date is an opportunity for us to bring you even more awesome features and content for consoles and PCs. We want Achilles: Legends Untold to be the best it can be, so our team will be working non-stop to introduce new immersive content on a regular basis leading up to its release in Q3. All this will give you more ways to take on the role of Achilles and survive in a brutal world inspired by ancient Greece. However, these are not all of our aces; we still have some up our sleeves! In time, we will reveal what else we have in store for you. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure in ancient Greece!

Achilles: Legends Untold is currently available on Steam and Epic Games Store for $19.99 / €18.99. After the full launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC along with the release of Update 1.0, the game will be priced higher at $24.99 / €23.99 on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store. For more details about the game, join the official Discord here, or check out the exciting trailer for Update 0.3.0.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games Returns This May 2 With Class-Based Supremacy Mode

Destiny 2’s Guardian Games returns once again this year, and this time it’s introducing a new version of the Supremacy PvP mode for the different classes to compete on. The event is set to run from May 2 to May 23 next month.

Here are the full details for this year’s Guardian Games:

Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 Schedule and Info:

Guardian Games Schedule

  • Start Date: May 2
  • End Date: May 23

Guardian Games Info

For those unfamiliar with the Guardian Games, it’s a yearly event where the game’s three classes (Titan, Hunter, and Warlock) compete against one another. Guardians can deposit Medallions and earn points for their respective teams. You can earn Medallions by performing various activities throughout the game. You will also be able to earn rewards by simply participating, with two new weapons in Taraxippos, the first Legendary Strand Scout Rifle, and The Title, a Void submachine gun that features the Repulsor Brace perk.

● Activities that award you low-tier (Bronze or Silver) Medallions include Gambit and Quickplay Crucible matches, anything from the Vanguard playlists, as well as most Neptune activities and Defiant Battlegrounds. For high-tier (Gold and Platinum) Medallions, play Nightfalls, raids, dungeons, Competitive Crucible, Trials of Osiris, or Legend Defiant Battlegrounds.

● Contender Cards which are purchased for 1000 Glimmer also award Gold Medallions. You can only carry two Contender Cards at a time: one for strikes and Gambit and another one focused on the Crucible. Platinum Cards award Platinum Medallions, and those cost 1500 Glimmer each. Just like Contender Cards, you can carry two of these at a time: one for strikes and Gambit and one for Crucible.

Strike scoring also returns with more milestones, Medals, and challenges. There will be two split strike playlists with regular and class-based matchmaking to earn additional rewards.

Strike scoring works like this:

● Earning high scores will unlock potent buffs for your weapons and abilities, so even if you don’t get your desired score the first time, you can keep trying and take advantage of that boosts to gain more Strike Medals, more points, and even stronger buffs. Those buffs only work on the Guardian Games playlists, so make good use of them.

The Guardian Games’ limited-time Supremacy mode will allow players to matchmake alongside other players of the same class, with the goal of collecting as many crests as possible during the match. There will also be an Event Card that rewards the title of “Champ” once completing the challenges, and you can upgrade the event card for 1000 silver to unlock new cosmetic rewards.

The Guardian Games Cup also returns this year, though this time the event is open to everyone, not just a select number of teams. The two Technical and Charitable categories will rank players based on the number of medals dunked during the event and the amount raised through the Bungie Foundation sign-up page, respectively. Winners of each category will be rewarded with custom art, pendants, an emblem, and Bungie Store discount codes depending on their final rank.

● Top team in the Technical category: custom art of your fireteam by PherianArt

● Top team in the Charitable category: custom art of your fireteam by Gammatrap

● Top two teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Guardian Games Pendant ($200 MSRP)

● Top three teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Apricot Dawn emblem

● Top four teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Bungie Store discount codes

There will also be an excellent donation reward for participants to enjoy:

● $25 and above – Quantum Relay emblem

Notes:

● Prizes are cumulative, so the top team in each category will also earn the prizes from the lower categories. The top two teams will receive custom art, the top four teams will receive Guardian Games Pendant, the top six teams will receive the Apricot Dawn emblem, and the top eight teams will receive Bungie Store discount codes.

● If a team wins in both categories, they will receive duplicate awards.

Funds raised through the Bungie Foundation will be sent to two organizations: Direct Relief and the International Rescue Committee.

● Direct Relief is a humanitarian aid organization, active in the US and more than 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.

● The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, including the conflict in Ukraine and the crisis in Afghanistan. They help to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. They are proud to fight for a world where women and girls have an equal chance to succeed.

Battlefield 2042 Update 4.2 Stealth Changes Include End of Round Chat for Consoles & More

With DICE rolling out update 4.2 for Battlefield 2042 yesterday, it seems there are some undocumented changes made once again. Thanks to the community, we have below the known Battlefield 2042 update 4.2 stealth changes list.

Chief among the undocumented changes include the ability for console players to chat during the End of Round screen (it’s a minor thing but still), the addition of a playercard commemorating Thick44 and more.

Battlefield 2042 Update 4.2 Stealth Changes:

  • #1 There is a new trail on the 60mm mortar pod that shows where the projectile is going.
  • #2 Consoles can finally use Chat during End of the Round screen.
  • #3 new player card for Thick44 :,)

OP: Legends may pass away. But they never die! LONG LIVE THE LEGEND!

  • #4 New store content notification dot

OP: remember that famous pic of woman dress and people arguing what color is it?… so is that dot freakin orange or brown?!?!?!

  • #5 Updated “Specialists” & “Gear” icons under collection
  • #6 crosshair to ADS has a new transition

    prev: crosshair just faded out

now: crosshair lines converge in the middle, feels much more snappy to ADS now

  • #7 I think they finally fixed ‘Audio in background’ setting, it no longer appears to be playing sound when minimized to desktop [YEP THEY DID]
  • #8 The GUI for the socials menu where you can view your friends list has been changed. It’s improved in my opinion.

= The party/social screen is now centered but high up on screen vs centered horizontal and vertical.

  • #9[BUG INTRODUCED]

Kills using wehicles` gunner seat counts as KILL + ASSIST (same enemy) at the same time.

  • #10[BUG INTRODUCED]

Sometimes JUST dying inside friendly wehicle counted for me as ASSIST for my own death (with green assist icon). Ridiculous

  • #11 VCAR with Midnight skin and UH1 Smart Optic no longer has sight misalignment issues. Took em 3 seasons to fix but im glad they finally did.
  • #12 new glow around killfeed items
  • #13 store shows whats ”new”
  • #14 I think and im not sure, but the 25mm cannon on jets have a a higher velocity
  • #15 I love how when you’re in a party now, on the main menu at the bottom right where it shows your friends… if you’re in a party, I have yellow text saying how many party members there are currently in my party. Stealth, no clue but still I like it.
  • #16 They remove “conquest large” in portal mode. And the new “conquest” mode can’t be set to 128 players.

[this is actually bug confirmed by DICE and they are looking into it.]

  • #17 No clue where my first comment went but i think the super 500 got changed. The hipfire felt different this morning, like it was more sturdy and the circle crosshair on your screen stays the same size and doesn’t expand while moving. I could be wrong though

= The super 500 is just as inaccurate as it was before but the crosshair circle is now about x1.25 the pellet spread instead of being x2 the pellet spread. this was alluded to in the patch notes.

The x2 crosshair circle is used for all other shotguns (and is how the hipfire indicator works for all guns) so this change just adds inconsistency. For example the 500 now has the exact size crosshair circle as the NVK despite being about half as accurate.

If they are going to do this for the 500 they should also do it for the other shotguns, maybe then people would realize how accurate most of them actually are (the MCS might as well just fire slugs with how tight it actually is).

  • #18 I killed a jeep with a javelin (after spotting him), and got the kill and the spot, which is new.
  • #19 They finally fixed a Sundance bug where they only had the cluster grenade as their gadget (without the option to change it to the anti-armor one, had it since season ~1-2, tried everything to fix it back then). Thanks dice
  • #20 [HEADS UP?] Shot the condor with MPAT and the damage number was 37. Thought it would be more.
  • #21 [PERSISTENT BUG] Vehicle countdown timer not counting down, had to refresh. Coming back from a while not playing so not sure if this was from an earlier update.

OP: so yeah, this thing is with us for really long time. To actually see vehicles refreshed on vehicle deploy menu screen you need to back out of the menu and re-open it to refresh vehicle icon status so you can spawn it. I HATE IT! PLS DICE!

  • #22 Seems like you have to be more accurate with the jet radar missiles now (smaller autolock window size or whatever it’s called)
  • #23 It feels like there’s a difference in the way players are highlighted in general. More specifically with falk: when you aim at a player with the syrett pistol the border/highlighting looks different/more grey.

OP: imo it has to do something with how dice every update increase exposure, contrast and these things to actual image of the game that is rendered.

  • #24 Option to disable Hints has been fixed. Now you can remove reload, low ammo etc hints
  • #25 Bipod no longer auto undeploys on weapon switch. Finally!
  • #26 There’s a new tint on 1.5X thermal scope, it’s a lot easier to see things.

There might be more added within the day/week and if that happens, we’ll update the article for accuracy.

Thanks, ANGRYlalocSOLDIE!

Our Sims’ mouths have healed wonderfully and the over nine million recently created infants will once again have these next stages of life to look forward to. That’s about it for this patch. Once a new one is released, we’ll let our readers know.

Activision Monthly Active Users Down 13 Million Over Last Quarter; Blizzard Also Down 18 Million

Despite strong showings in Activision Blizzard’s 2023 net revenue over last year, a recent financial report revealed that monthly active users for Activision are down 13 million over the previous quarter, with Blizzard similarly down 18 million monthly active users over the same period.

Here’s the full table of the numbers from 2022 to 2023:

Compared to last year’s quarter ending on December 31, 2022, Activision’s monthly active users now amount to 98 million from 111 million. Blizzard suffered a relatively larger drop from 45 million in 2022 to just 27 million on March 31, 2023.

Activision and Blizzard both have fairly high-profile titles under their belt. Activision is best known for its highly successful Call of Duty games, with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 currently spearheading the franchise. Blizzard has quite a few diverse games as well, with Overwatch 2, World of Warcraft, and the Diablo franchise all owned by the company. It’s worth noting that Overwatch 2 also came out just last quarter as a free-to-play title. On the other hand, King, known for Candy Crush Saga, seems to be doing just fine, with an increase in monthly active users from 233 million last December 2022 to 243 million earlier this March.

Though Blizzard’s numbers seemed to have tanked by quite a bit, the upcoming release of Diablo 4 this June 6 should help increase monthly active users for the company during this quarter, which should end on June 30. Diablo 4’s having another beta weekend from May 12 to 14, which should drive even more interest in the title ahead of launch.

In case you missed it, Activision Blizzard’s acquisition deal with Microsoft was just recently blocked by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), with Bobby Kotick releasing a statement that this decision “is far from the final word.”
