Latest rumors suggest Battlefield 4 will release by Fall 2013, closely following the yearly release schedule EA has set in place for its AAA shooters.
Chinese website GamerSky reports that Battlefield 4 will be “available Fall 2013,” according to leaked promotional material given to Canadian retailer EBGames, owned by GameStop.
The poster features similar artwork to what we’ve already seen, but also details a pre-order bonus that grants a Battlefield 4 dog tag to those who get their hands on a pre-order.
Pre-orders will likely go on sale on or shortly after Wednesday, March 27, by wich point DICE and EA will have unveiled Battlefield 4.
“Pre-order now to get a real pair of Battlefield 4 dog tags while supplies last,” reads the poster.
DICE and EA have confirmed Battlefield 4 for release on next-generation consoles while releasing a version for current-gen consoles as well, according to early Battlefield 4 beta invites which were confirmed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Prior to this, EA has only confirmed Battlefield 4’s release for sometime between April 2013 and March 2014, ambiguously.
The Battlefield 4 beta will also be available this fall to those who snagged a Limited Edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and potentially to those who own a Battlefield 3 Premium membership.
While it’s unlikely that we’ll see a retail version of Battlefield 4 running on the PlayStation 4 or next Xbox by Fall 2013, perhaps a current-gen and PC version of Battlefield 4 could hit shelves by then? This poster suggests so.
What do you guys think? Would EA be willing to split up the release of Battlefield 4 if the PlayStation 4 and next Xbox we not released by Fall 2013?
Thanks, Delta8A, for the tip!
Update
MP1st readers redviper911 and alelo have pointed out that the jet used in the promotional material seems to be a copy and paste of a J20 Fighter Jet image that can be easily Googled. This either proves the promotional material fake, or indicates lazy marketing on EA’s part.
However, others have also pointed out that this same image appears on DICE’s official marketing imagery for Battlefield 4, perhaps indicating a bit of lazy marketing.
Thanks, guys! It’s a tough one to prove.
