Catch More Battlefield 4 Running on the Xbox One

Lucky gamers and attendees of this weekend’s Arena One event in Chicago are being treated to some hands-on time with DICE’s upcoming Battlefield 4 on Microsoft’s Xbox One hardware.

All teary-eyed that you couldn’t make it? Well, thanks to YouTube personality Benjamin Hall, we’re getting a glimpse of at least some action through some off-screen videos which, despite their nature, are rather high quality.

Here are a few clips of Battlefield 4 running on the Xbox One, gathered from gameplay on the map “Zavod 311″.

How’s it lookin’? Are you gearing up for Battlefield 4 on either of the next generation consoles?

Thanks, DualShockers

  • xHDx

    Can’t wait or this masterpiece.

  • Jaxon

Looks like the 360 version, but on the other hand the PS4 version looks much better. No bias

    • acealchemist

Lmao, making a judgement from a camera. That’s pretty ridicules, what has the world come too now?

      • One point

on the other hand if he made a positive comment you wouldnt mind

        • Joseph

well if he made a positive comment there’d *possibly* be nothing to correct him on….right?

          • One point

but he would still be making a judgement, right?

            • Milk

Nothing to correct him on…like how it’s spelled “ridiculous”?

            • acealchemist

^ You sir are correct, I did misspell it.But on the other hand… Battlefield 4 is nearly upon us!

      • Jaxon

Lmao, cant anyone have an opinion without having a 15 year old gay dude correct him?

        • Rave

Calm down, i guess it’s only natural to get upset when being corrected by someone older than you.

      • Jake Jeckle

It is about the same argument as PC Fan Boys dissing the power of consoles. Lame and pointless. Really lame when they have no idea what they are talking about. (even the ones who think they do)

        • XFistsClenchedX

What are you talking about? Anyone with half a brain knows that the consoles aren’t nearly as powerful as PCs. You can play Battlefield 4 on PC at 4k resolution if you have the right setup.

      • paulinacio

@SubXero was claiming Xbox one looked better from off screen footage lol not only that but he was comparing the 2 when the footage was from 2 totally different maps LMFAO He sated that PS4 version looks like BF3 if I’m not mistaken while X1 looked like PC BF4 which those are some pretty bold statements when comparing off-screen footage’s/different maps

    • Joseph

      It really doesn’t…get a new monitor. -.-

    • Scotty K

You are pretty clueless the textures are a ton better and it actually has lighting effects ( something that was largely missing from the 360 version ) but feel free to keep trolling away.

    • Mr. Thuggins

If you feel the need to validate your statement by saying “no bias”, then you’re probably biased. You would’ve said this is beautiful had the words “…on the Xbox One” not been included.

    • Craig

are you on crack?.. seriously.. are you? I’m worried about you

    • paulinacio

all we have seen from both PS4 and X1 is off screen footage so making a statement like that is kinda ridiculous!! Both PS4 and Xbox One will be nearly identical and we should all be excited to play BF4 on Next Gen at 60fps

      • http://www.facebook.com/datkidfromawendaw Clay Johnson

Well both versions will have their extra quirks as well. PS4 having SIXAXIS, Xbox One with the head tracking thing. It’s gonna be a rather different experience for all.

    • Ryan Schulze

Buying PS4 Day One, but there’s nothing we’ve seen at all to suggest that the Xbone and PS4 versions will be significantly different at all. Both will fall somewhere between the Current Gen and PC on Ultra settings and most likely, be nearly identical. Of course, both running at 60 FPS will be a big change as will be the 64 players. I hope some of the maps (for Current Gen) work out better than Shanghai. That was way too big on Conquest for just 24 players.

      • Jake Jeckle

Yeah the beta made it very clear 24 players for BF Conquest just does not cut it anymore. I was literally capturing objectives by myself which is so lame.

        • Ryan Schulze

Snipers, though sometimes annoying, make practically zero sense on the Current Gen Shanghai Conquest. With only 12 players on a side, that camp fest means there’s plenty of objectives to cap by yourself. I’m fairly certain the team with the most snipers lost every round. However, the hope is, that once the game is out for a week or so, that we will all stop trying to test all the “levolution” and where we can snipe from and actual play the objective.

          • Jake Jeckle

I was actually paying attention and when the team I was on had 3 to 4 roof lovers we lost badly. Current gen will be so unbalanced sad to say.

            • Ryan Schulze

I hope not. I have friends that preordered it for the 360, plus putting out a broken version of the game that will reach the widest audience, isn’t the best way to improve your brand. Of course, this is probably their last current gen BF game and they’ll cite some of the problems as a reason to drop it.

          • XFistsClenchedX

Snipers make zero sense on any conquest map. They do virtually nothing for their team.

            • AL_GR33N_

C4 and PLD beg to differ. And even in BF3, a well used SOFLAM can turn the tide, provided other assets respond to the locks.

      • Jake Jeckle

I predict the PS4 will have a slight edge in lighting and a more solid frame rate during chaotic moments. DICE said that the next gen runs between high and ultra settings. Now that was 2 months ago so they probably optimized it even better now.

      • XFistsClenchedX

Because DICE refuses to say what the resolutions for the PS4 and Xbox One versions are, I think the PS4 and Xbox One versions are 720p and they won’t say what the resolutions are because they don’t want to anger the Sony fans.

        • Ryan Schulze

I thoughtthey’d 720, but assuming higher. The resolution at 720 is fine with me if the detail and destruction is there. If I wanted the best graphics, I would play on my PC, but I’ll be happy on my PS4 as long as the gameplay is there.

        • paulinacio

why is it only crap that comes out of your mouth?? Dice had stated in the past that the PS4 would be 900p/60fps then upscaled to 1080p and Jackfrags can confirm this but Dice will no longer confirm this since X1 was said to be only 720p. I have no idea what the final resolution will be now but the console release is right around the corner and all your idiocracy will be at a end.. hopefully lol please stop bashing every positive thing about Sony and just enjoy what xbox has to offer

    • BadCompany3

      PS4 douche bag in action.

    • kreator

      STFU!

    • XFistsClenchedX

The PS4 version and Xbox One version look exactly the same to me. DICE refuses to say what the resolutions are for the PS4 and Xbox One versions and I believe that’s because the PS4 and Xbox One versions are both 720p. I think they don’t want to announce that because it would piss off the PS4 fans.

  • Mohammad Nassir

I’ve seen a lot of videos on YouTube .. Now I’ll wait and discover the game by myself .. Thanks David

    • 8inister

Thank you for this important information.

  • mus1CKFps

very excited for both next gen versions can’t wait to actually play the game on one of the next gen versions

  • Robenter

I know youtube is 30 fps, but the vid looks real smooth to me. Its got me feeling better about the next gen console version.

    • eBunny

That might just be because of the video and the rendering. Because this looks way smoother than when I play the game at 60FPS on the PC. Same goes for livestreams.

      • Alex Melendez

I don’t think so buddy. I know 60 fps when I see it

        • KCmizzou852

The game has been confirmed to be 60fps for months now. Only thing we dont know for sure is resolution,

      • NinoBr0wn

Something is wrong with your setup then.

      • TI_21

Nah, that’s because they played with a controller which has smooth input by design.
You can test this on your PC, it’s pretty much the reason for 30 FPS games being enjoyable on consoles. Just plug in a controller.

And in the livestream all we’ve seen was gameplay from the spectator mode which isn’t a 1:1 reproduction of the gameplay. It has to smooth out the movement since it has to take jitter into account.
Otherwise it would result in jerky motions of the model.
In BF3 on PC you were able to adjust it by changing the “network smoothing factor” setting.

        • 8inister

“The controller which has smooth input”

LMFAO. Yeah thats totally making the video smooth. Wow.

          • TI_21

You kinda sound like an idiot, it’s exactly how I described it.
Looking around with a controller is smoother compared to looking around with a mouse.
That doesn’t make it better, though it could help if you’re getting motion sickness when the frame rate is too low.

            • XFistsClenchedX

Yeah, but there is more to smoothness than just how smoothly you can look around. For instance, I always notice the 60fps difference on flags blowing in the wind and things like that.

  • roland0811

Run n’ gun sprintfest twitch shooter of the year. Yep.

    • 8inister

You’re in the wrong thread. Call of Daycare: Goats is thattaway —>>

      • roland0811

Stopped playing CoD after four. Went back to tactical shooters…then watched them die as ADHD kids needed more explosions and better graphics (Crysis, CoD, Battlefield, MoH, etc.) over in depth and balanced gameplay (GRAW, Rainbow Six, Arma, Operation Flashpoint).
Battlefield’s always just been CoD with vehicles anyway so your comment is invalid.

        • Jake Jeckle

          Now Forest.

  • André Lévesque

Im Ready , Already Paid my One & Bf4, Wish Turtle beach XO Seven wasnt delayed but what can i do

  • Aria68

These days i play a lot of Black Ops 2 and i can’t express how much NOW i appreciate the Battlefield … i mean COD is a good game but it gets extremely repetitive and boring, not to mention the amount of campers and unfair death that you get, i mean it’s probably normal for those that never truly played Battlefield … I can’t wait for BF4 on PS4 so i can really experience the true competitive multiplayer orgasm!

    • BadCompany3

I play a lot of BF and COD too and do not respect your opinion. Are you 12? Looks like your reasons for bashing COD is so immature. Repetitive and boring? To be honest, playing the BF4 beta feels playing the same ‘ol battlefield.

      • 8inister

Ad hominem attacks will get you nowhere here.

        Off ya go troll.

        • Guest

          lol!, well played 8inister.

      • betosobreira

Same here. BF4 is better than BF3 in graphics and….. ??

        • jj16802

Let’s not forget Levolution changing the entire map layout.

      • Aria68

Probably the word “Boring” wasn’t the wisest choice … so let me repeat that! what i meant is the game become very repetitive! the things you do in every map are mostly the same every time, and the fact that everyone else do the same things everytime make it even more repetitive, it’s very predicable, u’d know the positions that people camp … it’s fun just because it’s mindless n fast! but it gets repetitive fast! and on top of all, the fact that alot of players camp to get their streak going, make it even worst, but It’s not even ends there! once they get their streaks you are gonna be dying with the most unusual and frustrating ways possible.
Tools that slows u down, missiles that will hit u even if u go under the roof…
And the worst nightmare is when the whole Team Camping in a room, Gawsh that makes everything in a game even more ridiculous, or snipers that hide in small place and quick snipe everyone like nothing … when all these happens in one playing day session, you feel somewhat bored!
I played all CODs, i grew up with Call of duty, and for some one like me that like to run around and play with a good balance of strategy and speed is very sad to encounters so many cheap plays…
and last but not least, i threw in 50hrs+ in BOII but things in it, things i do and everyone else do get very repetitive in every maps to the point, that only addiction to this game will bring u back in, otherwise i personally don’t sense so much fun and true/fair competitive feeling in it…
I played 1.5 hr of BF3 yesterday night after a long time. Even though i played BF3 to the point i feel really tired of it (600 hr +) yesterday night i felt so out of control playing it with some random people, i felt so in to the action to the point i kept on sweating! my stress level went high, i witnessed some weird sick and unscripted things that blew my mind for a moment and led me to remember why i love Battlefield so much! (and i was just playing on an old PS3, Only god knows how would it feel like on PC or next gen!)
        That’s my point bro!

      • roland0811

“To be honest, playing BF4 beta feels like playing the same ol’ Battlefield.”
You’re right. The Battlefield fanboys are just blind, though. They’re worse than the CoD fanboys, now.

        • Jake Jeckle

Please throw your keyboard in the trash.

          • roland0811

Nah, I’ll just keep wondering why people are so blind to the obvious thank you very much.

        • XFistsClenchedX

As I said, there is a lot more depth to Battlefield. You can be the scoring leader on your team and never even fire a shot. There are many, many more elements to Battlefield than COD.

          • roland0811

That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it.

      • XFistsClenchedX

Yeah, but there are many more layers of complexity in Battlefield games. It’s far deeper than COD.

  • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

I dont know people, everything i’ve seen and played so far looks and feels just like bf3. This zavod is just like a map from end game dlc and paracel storm is another version of wake island. The game gonna be great, that’s sure but EA should stop pushing DICE to release Battlefield games every 2 years. I would prefer bf 2143 instead of this, that is for sure

    • paulinacio

Did you play the beta?? The game feels like a whole new game and I actually had friends complain that they changed too much lol I love what I have seen and played so far and can’t wait to get my hands on the final version

      • Jake Jeckle

The new controls I love. Now I went back to BF3 and spotting with the select button feels stupid now.lol

    • alex

So let me guess you think the China Rising maps are just rehashes of the Vietnam map pack from BC2

      • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

China rising looks actually great. But i really would love to see some chinese maps from bf2 in second assault dlc instead of maps i’ve been playing on just recently.

        • alex

That little teaser they gave us got me excited enough to preorder. And i dont preorder

    • Jake Jeckle

This is what BF3 should have been. And if it feels like BF3 with better mechanics that is alright to me.

      • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

its ok for me as well, but they should stop this 2 years cycle. it doesnt work anymore

        • Jake Jeckle

From my experience i have put over 1000 hours into BF3 and I feel right now I want and need a new BF. I have almost stopped playing BF3 because I finally got bored of it. 2 years is perfect I think, because for me 2 years is plenty of time to experience everything a BF game has to offer and then some.

DICE is super smart releasing this for next gen consoles as a launch game. And here is why.

          1. It is a system seller for anybody who loves and plays BF hardcore or FPS.
          2. Also it is gonna prove just how more advanced it is over COD this time. COD no longer has any argument on why it is the smoothest and better shooter on consoles as BF4 is now 60fps on consoles. Not to mention huge maps with 64 players.

          3. It is perfect timing. If you are like me and have been playing BF3 since launch then you are ready for a new one.

          • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

i’m more excited about titanfall and star wars battlefront, new experiences are always good. Haven’t played bf3 since june

            • jj16802

Honestly, from what I’ve played in the beta the new gunplay mechanics made it feel like a new game for me. I’m probably going to get it for PC first rather than go current-gen console version just for the larger maps and better graphics. Going back to BF3 on PS3 after the BF4 beta made the game a bit lacking.

            • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

console crowd should get bf4 anyway, they finally can play with 64 player and 60 fps, but for pc people its almost the same game

    • Crusina .

Yevgenij, you’re an idiot. Battlefield games have always had the Two to two and a half year cycle from the very beginning.

It’s not new, it’s not EA, it’s DICE. Look up your facts before stating dumb crap alright?

      • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

well yeah. But back in a day every battlefields games had different settings or build on a new engine. bf2142 wasnt the same as bf2 although it came out a year later and some of battlefield titles sucked like bad company 1 and bf 1943

        • MrSunshine

Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield 2 were using the same engine. Refractor 2. You seem to be trying really hard to find something to bitch about.

      • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

Just dont like double standards. Everyone hates cod for being the same shit every year, but when all these reskinned games like bf4, AC4 and batman arkham origins come out nobody even cares.

  • edge7797

does anyone know what the kinect box at the top of the screen is about?

  • EndangeredQuake

    Dat Katy Perry remix…

  • Jake Jeckle

Insert narrow minded PC fanboy comment here.

  • xHDx

This is recorded with one of the shitest cameras I have saw to date, and people try to judge it. You people need your heads looking at. The Camera is probably 30FPS and its not 1-to-1 quality not to mention the TV looks smal and probably isn’t 1080p@60FPS.

  • jj16802

That Kinect sensor warning makes me wonder if DICE has yet to implement a Kinect feature for the game so far.

    • Michael W

They already said, the Kinect will have voice commands, head tilting, and leaning out of cover.
Its going to be awesome! Can’t wait to try it out!

      • 8inister

LOL @ little kids making military hand gestures in their living room.

        • BF Noob

I always see these hand gestures being used in video games and movies.. shit… they even teach them to us in boot camp. The only hsnd gestures I’ve used or seen used, is the middle finger… and the jerk off gesture. Or waving to show your location.

        • XFistsClenchedX

The Kinect is used for head tracking on the Xbox One. You don’t need a button to lean on the X1.

    • XFistsClenchedX

The kinect sensor warning is there because Battlefield 4 will have head tracking on the Xbox One.

  • Oliver eberhardy

Good stuff, but I’d like to see Jet gameplay. It’s always the noobs who get to try it out first. *facepalm*

    • Clarkkent113

Nothing is worse than a noob going for the helicopter and having no idea how the fly it.

      • Oliver eberhardy

Actually what’s worse is when they know how to fly but you get rammed by a jet.

  • Emre

what is new in this game apart from the maps and guns.

  • jaskdavis

Looks Darn Good! Shiny and smooth :D

  • WomenAreStupid

Awesome, please give us more next-gen gameplay of BF4 when you come across it! :)
