Call of Duty: Ghosts Leaks – Multiplayer Maps, Game Modes and Two Discs on Xbox 360

In an unsurprising turn of events, details surrounding Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty title, Ghosts, have leaked via physical and in-game images of an early release copy of the game.

Instagram user mute0909 has posted images of his attained copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts revealing the game’s multiplayer maps list, game mode lists, and that the Xbox 360 version of the game will ship on two discs.

As was the case with games like Halo 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5, Call of Duty: Ghosts will most likely require Xbox 360 users to install data to the console’s hard drive in order to avoid disc swapping. The actual amount, however, was not specified in any of the images. For the most part, this means good things as it indicates that the game will include more content – like higher resolution textures, for example - than previous Call of Duty titles.

If you care to note the game’s multiplayer maps and game modes, check out lists below:

Thanks, CoDOnline, for the game mode descriptions

  • MegaMan3k

Hunted. Yes please. Sounds like Scavenger from BF3 which was one of my favorite modes in BF3.

Hopefully the game plays awesome. Can’t wait for 11/5,

  • BroJ

You mean a game on Xbox 360 takes more then one disc. Never!!!!
Shows which system was truly outdated last gen.

    • xboxoneforlife

Xbox 360 was out a year before the ps3. Blue Ray was not popular at that time.

      • BroJ

To be fair they did know about Blu Ray but they chose to adopt HDDVD. The PS3 really pushed Blu Ray across the finish line though as the adopted new format. If PS3 would not have existed I do not think Blu Ray would have got so popular.

Imagine what would have happen if HDDVD would have won instead of Blu Ray with the Blu Ray drive already in the PS3. Ouch

        • xboxoneforlife

I agree the ps3 did push blu ray. HDDVD was one of the worst decision Microsoft ever made.

          • xHDx

I agree Xbox 360 should have had blu-ray. Although if you run a DVD in a Blu-Ray player, it will read slower than in a DVD player. So they are lucky they got BR Discs out there to.

          • XFistsClenchedX

No, it wasn’t. It required no commitment at all from Microsoft. I still think HD-DVD should have won for numerous reasons.

        • XFistsClenchedX

Blu-ray was a problem for the PS3. It’s why the games had to be installed to the hard drive and why the PS3 was $200-300 more expensive than the Xbox 360.

If HD-DVD had won, things would be basically the same way they are now, except HD-DVD movies would be cheaper, the players would be cheaper, and you could have HD-DVDs on the same disc as regular DVDs.

          • Zatanna XOXOXOXO

About the installation: It is mandatory on PS3, but it is an option on almost every Xbox game for a reason, if a game is installed load times tend to be slower; if anything the installs are a good thing. Not to mention how easily scratched and broken HD DVDs are, and I do not like to have 3 discs for some games (FF13) when in reality there is no reason it should have that many. Blu-ray discs also allow things like “Dragon Age: Ultimate addition” to have all add-ons on one disc without requiring internet to download the DLC you already paid for when you bought that version of the game.

            • XFistsClenchedX

Yeah, but if the PS3 didn’t have the option to install the game, due to the super slow blu-ray drive, load times on the PS3 would be astronomical compared to the Xbox 360. The installs were ultimately a good thing, but the PS3 had them due to necessity while the Xbox 360 didn’t. HD-DVDs aren’t easily scratched or broken. HD-DVD had more than enough capacity for current gen gaming. You’d never have had to switch disks in Mass Effect and you could easily have had all the DLC for it too.

          • paulinacio

if HD-DVD had won then HD movies would look like crap with the limited amount of space

            • Zatanna XOXOXOXO

We would have the great looking animated films on more than one disc also. Please insert disc two to finish your movie.

            • paulinacio

haha isn’t that the truth lol imagine a movie like Harry Potter boxset in HD on HD DVD.. it would be probably be over 15 HD DVDs for that movie xD

            • XFistsClenchedX

              Nope.

            • XFistsClenchedX

You literally have no idea what you’re talking about.

            • XFistsClenchedX

Actually, in the early days, the HD-DVDs looked better than the Blu-Ray versions. The blu-ray versions had inferior codecs. HD-DVDs had more than enough capacity for a movie. At least pretend you have a clue about HD-DVD before bashing it.

            • paulinacio

Dude.. Microsoft really has you by the ball sack don’t they?!?!? if HD-dvd was superior then it would have won since Bluray was clearly more expensive so it says a lot when the more expensive products win over its competitor lol

            • XFistsClenchedX

Microsoft had virtually nothing invested in HD-DVD aside from the fact that they liked it better than Blu-Ray. HD-DVD was Toshiba’s baby, not MS. Blu-Ray won for several reasons, most of which had nothing to do with the product itself. Sony is a big, influential name in movies so they were able to secure several large film companies to the Blu-Ray roster. Forcing Blu-Ray into the PS3s ensured that 10s of millions of Blu-Ray players would be put into people’s hands. Sony marketed the hell out of Blu-Ray, while Toshiba didn’t market HD-DVD. Blu-Ray won mostly due to Sony’s persuasiveness — with other companies and with consumers.

The only advantages that Blu-Ray had was more storage capacity (30GB vs 50GB — although Toshiba was working on an HD-DVD disc with more capacity until they gave up the format war) and better audio (possibly due to more storage capacity). Visually, HD-DVDs were typically using better codecs than the Blu-Rays so HD-DVDs usually had the best picture quality (the few Blu-Rays that used the same codec matched the HD-DVD picture quality). HD-DVD movies were cheaper, the players were cheaper, the discs could have a standard DVD side, etc.

          • Dirtknap

Blu-ray was only a portion of the additional expense. The largest proponent was attempting to regain some of the exorbitant R&D cost of the cell.

            • XFistsClenchedX

Blu-Ray was a significant portion of the expense. The PS3 was either $600 or $700 at launch and they were the cheapest Blu-Ray players you could buy at the time.

            • Dirtknap

Absolutely, Blu ray drives wouldn’t have been cheap, but they weren’t the sole reason for the high price. Blu ray was preexisting tech (though relatively unused, Blu ray dates back as far as 2000 if my memory serves me correctly), all that cell R & D was a big part of driving the entry level cost up.

            • http://www.facebook.com/datkidfromawendaw Clay Johnson

Which failed as an emerging technology. It’s cheaper and more efficient for companies to just use quad core processor in PC as the PS3 was the cheapest way to obtain Cell microprocessors which was why the US Air Force bought all of those PS3s.

            • Dirtknap

It sure did, I’ve never lauded the cell as some sort of processing messiah. It was supposed to be Sony’s opus, but ended up playing out more like a track on the top 40.

      • BroJ

ur an idiot so stfu u lil nerd go sleep with ur granny!!!!!!

        • xHDx

I think you will find he is correct. Trying to start a console war by stating the disadvantages of another console just digs a deeper hole for yourself

    • dpg70

I still think if MS had used HDDVD as the optical drive in the 360 things would look a lot different today. Instead they went with an external attachment while Sony committed to BluRay.

      • XFistsClenchedX

        Yeah, it would.

  • That guy you might know

    Infected?
    Seriously?

If that wasn’t a booster fest already. So many glitch spots, then they turned only a few of them into death spots.

    • Work hard Twerk harder

But the mode itself is the main reason I go back to MW3, and the fact of specilist, but that’s a whole other story.

      • That guy you might know

Specialist is what got me my only M.O.A.B.

I tried infected when it first came out, and I enjoyed it for a bit.
But then it it got really bad, and it was near unplayable so I stopped.

At least they kept out Faceoff, that ruined the game. We all know it.

        • Work hard Twerk harder

Faceoff was a waste of space since no one ever does small matches like 2v2 and the maps were just too small to enjoy (my opinion atleast).

And since I’m quite the tryhard / good guy on MW3, (3.35 ratio, i always like to mention that whenever i see a opportunity) infected really does give you a relaxing time compared to every other mode. A real dissapointed to me that BO2 didn’t see the popopularity of this community mode.

  • Mr. Thuggins

No Team Defender?? That sucks. Glad Infected is coming back. It was always a good mode to play to take a break from regular MP.

    • betosobreira

Some game modes can be released later. Ground War is not in the list but it may certainly comes back.

      • Jon Cameron

GW is in the game. This is a list found in the custom game modes, and apparently GW only shows up for online game modes.

        • betosobreira

          Thanks!!! Can’t wait to 11/5 !! =)

          • Jon Cameron

I’m wrong, apparently. New article up stating back of Ghosts’ box says 1-12 players.

            • betosobreira

I saw that too. This is going to make me move to next gen very soon. No ground war, only 12 players, very few weapons but good ones.

        • Johnny Neat

If they have it on Hardcore finally, I’m in. Well until the game pisses the hell out of me with its inherited fundamental issues.

  • Paul Thomas

    Any news about extinction?

    • alex

      Yes images leaked on charlieintel

    • cwatz

There are a few things floating around. It appears to be similar to zombies, and is unlocked after the campaign is finished. Thats all ive really seen.

      • Jon Cameron

It’s unlocked after completing the first five missions.

  • BroJ

What is a Team Deathmatch? Anyone?

    • BroJ

its where if u dont listen to ur wife she gets mad n see;s u posting meaningless shit on here to retards that dont care what u say n she beats the shit out of u!!!!!!!!!

  • TheDerpPolice

Lol those dumb one word map names . its like they think the kiddies have too hard a time with multiwords, boy they sure know their demographic.

    • George

      WAR-HAWK
      FUCK YEAH!!! Lol
(Think of a 90′s cartoon intro)

    • CoDforever

LOL battlefield is PERFECT AINTTT ITT ??

      • Zatanna XOXOXOXO

Nobody said anything about BF…. There you go again bringing it into a CoD article when it wasn’t even mentioned. Before you say he implied it, even if he did he still did not mention it, but you did.

  • Jaimy Kortenhoff

    Where did CTF go..?

    • Yevgenij Pekurovskyy

      they got blitz instead

I saw a comment about “Face Off” ruined MW3. I really enjoyed teaming up with my friend and going in for 2v2s. I thought it was incredibly fun and I have recently started playing them again. I think the only bad thing about Face Off was when they added Search and Destroy and Domination, it was better when it was just TDM and Kill Comfirmed. If it’s not out at launch, hopefully they bring it back later on like it was in MW3.

    • That guy you might know

It was those god awful spawns.

The very last Face Off game I played was the worst.

It was a 2v2 on that farm map, and it was tied up. I managed to get behind a guy and kill him. Next thing I know, I get completely lit up from behind.
Kill cam showed that the guy I just killed spawned directly behind me, rather than being spawned on the other side of the map, it’s worse cause there was no tac insert to be found, because where he spawned was the route that I had took to get to him.

  • Kevin Garvey

do they still have the hardcore play mode, and why there is no more capture the flag

  • Rob

That’s a good sign INFECTED. I loved that mode. They finally go off the one disc solution to make the game bigger with two discs. Hell yes.

  • bionicdee500

are these game modes Hardcore as well??

    • Lionel Leutz

that’s my question.. i won’t buy this if they took out hardcore mode.

  • matt

    what about capture the flag?
