Battlefield 4 Premium Double XP Event Underway, New Community Mission

This weekend, Battlefield 4 developer DICE wants you to capture 100 million objectives in 5 days in yet another Community Mission celebration Player Appreciation Month.

If there is any time to PTFO, it’s from February 21 at 7am PST/4pm CET to February 26 at 7am PST/4pm CET. Capturing enough objectives in the allotted time will award the entire Battlefield 4 community across all platforms a Gold Battlepack.

Although it wasn’t announced a head of time, it also looks like Battlefield 4 Premium members are being treated to some Double XP this weekend as well. Head online and you’ll see the message.

    Dear DICE,

    Please Fix (List referring to bugs, not detrimental “working as intended” inclusions)
    - The jet takeoffs (crashes) on Caspian and Oman
    - The janky buildings on Gulf of Oman
    - Bipods deploying inside of walls so that I’m aiming into the wall instead of above it
    - The non-collision floors on the construction towers of Gulf of Oman
    - The audio bug that causes sound not to be present for the first 30 seconds of each match
    - The texture pop-in causing vehicles to jump around at the beginning of each match
    - The addition of “birdstrikes” or “mid-air-crashes” to jet pilots who are experiencing minor connectivity issues (i.e. lag)
    - Widespread rubberbanding

      One would hope that when we finally get an actual patch (How long has it been again?) most of those will be fixed, I don’t know about the janky buildings, spawns, or motion sensitive-esque equipment detonating on friendlies though, they’re lazy about map making (I think Metro 2014 still has that glitch in the roof.), I’ve rarely seen spawns changed, and I have a feeling they’re going to say “Working as intended.” for the last bit.

        It’s suicidal spawning on the Delta, Charlie, and Bravo flags on Oman. Absolutely suicidal.

        It seems to favor the beach on Delta (where there’s usually an Attack Boat camped, the small berm at Charlie with your back facing an open field, and Bravo’s always a clusterfuck.

        The buildings I’m getting used to, but they’re still annoying as hell. Having to jump like an imbecile through doorways is silly.

        I have no idea how they could ever reason away friendly Claymores/Mines/SLAMs giving teamkills. It’s ludicrous. Through NO FAULT OF YOUR OWN, you’re incurring a teamkill because one of your teammates ran over/through your mine like an idiot. That, and even if you recognize friendly mines, that area is denied TO YOUR TEAM. Not only the enemy team as is designed.

        I don’t use Claymores AT ALL, for fear of some teammate running into my building that I’m attempting to hold down.

          I’ve been noticing in Operation Locker on Conquest that in between C/B, some people are spawning right on the metal detectors even though there’s a pure full and grenade fest going on between them.

          I think mainly the attack boats are there because there’s some water and they felt like people would want them there. They do tend to be near useless out there, but they can dish out some good makeshift AA damage.

            Which is the last thing I want, AA on a map that already has a ton of AA and has aircraft hampered by a sandstorm. Ugh.

            But naw, I think they could’ve been good. It’s just DICE doesn’t ever really account for change very well. They just do things and apparently live with the consequences.

      In reply to Katana: If you boost while taking off on caspian and oman you wont crash, The audio bug that causes sound not to be present is a feature that dice included because like your eardrums popped for a second, if you ever saw the movie Saving Private Ryan you would know that in the begining its all quiet from all the explosions going off. And the texture pop only happens on console it doesn’t happen on pc because pc loads games faster.

        Okay. So let me address your points one by one…

        1. I am aware that if you SLIDE OFF THE RUNWAY TO THE SIDE AND BANK UP A HILL, you can take off. It doesn’t mean it’s not completely bugged/improperly implemented if there’s a random workaround.

        2. No, you’re confusing “shellshock” with an audio bug. There is no sound in the first 30 seconds of the match. That’s what it is. There’s no shellshock. The first 30 seconds of the round have no audio, it’s because the game loads slowly.

        3. Like I said, texture pop-in isn’t the issue. HOWEVER, the fact that (for some reason) it causes your tank to jump around while driving when the textures are loading… is a big deal. Texture pop-in need not affect vehicle movement.

    They’re doing way too much double xp. I hit 110 a month ago and I’m just a casual player. Every battle pack I get now is mostly xp boost to add to the 30 I already have.

      Casual is subjective. I’ve dumped 150 hours into the game, made use of every double exp time they’ve had, used my 100%/200% bonuses, at 91 currently.

        When I clocked in 80-90 hours I believe, I was already level 100+.

            150h is just average. I had in 140 hours I though, but I play on ps3, so there are much less people, so less score…

              Time spent in-game is subjective, and dependent on a myriad of factors (like your experience on PS3). Deeming a particular timeset as “average”, “casual”, or “hardcore” doesn’t really inform what that player has done whilst playing.

              I play on PS4.

          148 hours and only level 92 here, and pretty much did what Katana did. I did stop playing for a good month or so after the first month it was out, I’ve only started playing again about a month ago, maybe a bit more. I play most of the gamemodes myself, alternating hardcore and core as well.

            Any one stat is meaningless. Accuracy, especially in netcode-central random spread BF4 is even more so.

      I agree.

      All these double xp weekend takes a lot of the fun away from the game, since you don’t have to grind as much as the previous BF titles and reaching the level cap doesn’t feel special anymore.

      If you think having 30 25% in-game boosts is too much, I have over a thousand of them. :|

        The ranking system in BF4 is the worst i´ve ever seing. You can reach 110 really fast, double XP + Boost …done!

        I dont know who thought this ranking but did a very poor job.

        Especially when you level up you get nothing else than battlepacks which bring more boosters and useless attachments… At least we can unlock some handguns or PDWs when we level up in BF3 Although after Lvl 45 it becomes repetitive and kinda boring. Hey, we should have some boosters in BF3 as requiring 230,000 to level up is much more than BF4
