Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Exo Survival Co-Op Mode – First Details

See Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s new Exo Surival co-op multiplayer trailer?

IGN got to play it, so here are a few details on what we saw in the latest video and what you’ll get to play in addition to Advanced Warfare’s single player and multiplayer on November 3.

Exo Survival supports one to four players, including two-payer split-screen. Taking place on Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer maps, the mode rotates through a series, or “tier”, of four. Players will unlock new tiers of maps as they progress through the mode. Completing 35 rounds, for example, scores you access to Tier 2 maps. Completing 100 rounds unlocks Tier 4.

As you progress, a random objective will pop up every 10 rounds. Completing it will net you additional upgrade points, while failing it will punish you with certain penalties, like having to face additional sentry guns in the next round.

Three classes are available to choose from as well, Light, Heavy, and Specialist, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Like Modern Warfare 3’s co-op survival mode, you’ll get the chance to make upgrades in between rounds. Only, this time, you can put points into your Exo Suit in addition to weapons, grenades, etc.

According to IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey, “it’s just like Halo’s Firefight or Gears of War’s Horde mode,” but “incredibly fun in a uniquely Call of Duty way.”

So far, the highest round reached in play testing is 65, so that will be the number to beat come launch!
